I feel like you're really fishing in the bottom of the barrel. What's your budget? You can find pic related for a bit above fifteen hundred in Chrono24 and it's not beaten to shit.

>> No.17232212

about $3k. My next choice within this range is a Zenith El Primero Chronomaster, would love a JLC Master Control but decent ones don’t go for less than $5k

17232247

>>17232218
I am looking at one singular watch for now, and I agree the Speedmaster is my way forward. As much as I’d love an open/exhibition case, I’m much better off with a day/date and the 3523.80 has a triple date and chronograph. Plus I have babby wrists, the 39mm case would be a good size.

And you are correct, there are other much cleaner options on Chrono24 like this one, albeit from Japan and with unknown movement performance. That beater I posted above has documented proof of +2s/daily time loss and is in the US, so if the scuffs can be polished relatively easily that is my current best option.

>> No.17232260

Well, no. That kind of bezel can't be easily polished without risking erasing some of the depth of the numbers. Btw, japanese sellers are possibly the most reliable in the entire site. Just look for one with a good, long reputation and background. It's easier to adjust a watch than to polish it, too.

Aside from the usual suspects, waiting lists have been going down for a while and inventory has actually started showing up in ADs.

Last week I was dropping my JLC off for its 10-year service and just had a look around. I expected to see the Rolex case barren as usual but there were pieces in there, mostly DJs (but then half of all Rolexes sold are DJs). They had some sports pieces too. I got to try on an Explorer II and the new 2-tone Explorer I. These were not display pieces. They offered to sell me one or both.

(I didn't buy either. The Explorer II is fuckhuge and the 2-tone Explorer looks way tackier in real life than in pictures.)

A lot of Rolex AD's have been stocked with display pieces for quite a while now. Doesn't mean you can buy them though since the don't contain movements. It was done by Rolex to stop all the empty cases customers were seeing when they went into a store which was not good for business. Just means you can put in an order.

Wait times have definitely improved though, everything is back to pre-Covid levels and possibly even better.

The vast majority of people in these threads have no money. That’s fine, 4chan skews young. But I would never take financial or life advice from people on this website and especially not from people in this thread. There are MAYBE 4 posters here with higher end collections; not that a higher end collection makes them an authority, but at the very least I’d trust their opinion on certain watches/brands over some NEET who has never touched a higher end watch.

The “sigma grindset” is complete cringe. Real wealthy people (i.e. multigenerational) don’t take that approach at all and probably live much more satisfying and fulfilling lives.

It’s a pretty simple fact that you’re most productive when you are getting enough sleep, free time and decompressing appropriately.
The whole sigma grindset is just what you get when you have an entire generation raised on video games. You are the lone wolf, only you can change the outcome, you can exploit the system for gain if you follow these steps.
YouTube personality’s seem to always push entrepreneurship because they can sell you business plans and tools.
Personally I think the best path for most young men who want to climb the ladder is either engineering or sales, find a startup if you want extra risk.

It's like they want to be Patrick Bateman which is cringe enough already, but for it to go in reverse. They're trying to start off by acting like an egotistical psychopath in order to become rich, rather than becoming that way due to the dehumanising bubble money can put you in, if you let the money remain an obsession even when you already have it.
