Sometimes these differences are meaningless, sometimes they are significant, which is why its import to research the specific movement used in a watch you are looking at so you can understand its pros and cons.

I like a bunch of cerina watches and recommended them. They end up using a bunch of very nice high accuracy quartz movements in their quartz watches.
They might be considered sort of a boring brand but they make decent stuff.
Just don't pay msrp, look for discounters, grey market sellers like jomashop etc.
Their diver is not too much of a sub homage, i mean the sub is so dman popular that half the dive watches look like subs, so as long as its not trying to be a clone with a different name on the dial i wouldn't worry about it.
