Nobody is wearing watches. I'm seeing maybe 20% the number I used to. These are all wealthy/smart people - they dumped their watch bags in 2020/2021. Saw the money printing going on, oh nice, time to sell a piece for 3x price to middle manager Eric for 20% of his income. Don't worry Eric, the price is going to keep going up on that Daytona forever, you would be stupid NOT to buy it. All these watches will be rebought by my rich friends here in 2024 for half what they dumped them for. That's one thing you learn around these people - no matter what the economy is doing, there's endless opportunities to dump on the middle class.

Lol believe it or not this particular one I got sells gray for what I bought it at. I learned my lesson paying white market for an omega, that was the real money burn. This was shortly before the moonswatch and horrible advertisements too. I’m also a Rolex owner (bought gray) and always consider resale because I do tend to sell my watches. My issue isn't the power supply. My issue is that the original Monaco was a true bicompax, the 2 subdials were complications, a minute and hour totalizer, it didn't have running seconds. The new heuer branded one has running seconds instead of the hour totalizer and it pisses me off to no end.

Well the second hand in the center is for your chrono but yes you could just start you chrono to see if it's running instead of looking at running seconds. I'm fine for the most part with running seconds on modt watches, I would always prefer an hour totalizer but it's not a deal breaker for me except on the Monaco. I can't fucking do a 24h subdial though UNLESS the watch already has an hour totalizer.

Did some price research: The calibre 12 with the right side crown sells for less than half and the calibre 11 sells for 5350 from 2015 whereas the one I bought new was 6300. Besides the leftie looking better, the rightie unless purchased gray is burning money. These things used to not matter to me as much but I paid well over asking (gray) at the omega ad for my Sedna planet ocean and I am forever salty about it. I paid 18k and it sells new gray for 12k. This was when I first got into the hobby and didn’t know any better. Really rubbed me the wrong way.

Thanks, I'm learning. I have been in the hobby for just a year or so now and have been trying to learn from my mistakes. For any anons reading, always check the gray market before you buy retail. I knew this from the beginning but I was scared of fakes and not knowing if the watch was real or not but from a seller with a higher rating it should be fine with a few exceptions. The watch can always be verified afterwards too.

The use of lume, for example. Is it a dress watch or a sports watch? Either way, it makes the indices, hands, and numerals way too fat.
The date aperture is at 6, which is better than at 3, but it would be better without one at all...worse still is the unfinished cutout of the aperture and the non-colormatched datewheel
The case has obvious art deco influences but lacks any kind of consistency with the chunky 60's style numerals and the inexplicable double railroad track.
