Guys with healthy medium length and longer hair, what is your hair care routine?
I don't do a lot but I
>Try to eat loads of protein, B-vitamins
>Avoid shampooing
>Avoid pulling my hair physically, like tight hats, or while sleeping, and don't wear buns or headbands at home (or anywhere else actually)
>Use leave-in conditioners very conservatively, like creams or sprays

My hair is alright, but I haven't ever really focused on getting it to look it's best before. Any tips from guys who have actually thought about their hair care extensively?

Is it possible to go the no-shampoo route if you have seborrheic dermatitis? Did anyone here try it? Does the dandruff ever go away or is it something you suffer every day unless you shampoo?

>> No.17193991

>>17193976
If you haven't tried no-shampoo for an extended time, like 2 months or more, you probably should. How long is your hair? My scalp issues have gotten way better after ditching shampoo, but starting to not shampoo had it's own issues obviously. The first month is the worst, especially around the 2-3 week mark.
>Does the dandruff ever go away or is it something you suffer every day unless you shampoo?
It still comes out, but rarely, and is way less severe than before. Washing with water and blowdrying if needed is enough to clear it.

Very broad question I know, but what product would you use to puff up/lift up hair in the front so that it doesn't fall limply against the scalp? I've tried clay and wax before but it seemed counterproductive, like it weighed it down even more. Hairspray didn't do much either, just made my hair crunchy. I've heard that mousse could be a solution but I don't know which one to look for.

>> No.17194077

>>17194072
try using less wax/clay if your hair strands are thin since the product may be too heavy
try a wax/clay with higher “hold” because not all waxes/clays keep hair up
as for mousses, make sure it’s a weather-proof high-hold product

Short to medium sized. I'm 1 month in and I should be getting a haircut by now but I have waaay too much dandruff to do it, so I'm debating on whether I should call it quits and use Nizoral for 1 week before getting it cut, or just powering through it. I have no idea why my hair is receding/thinning. My scalp is getting dangerously close to the left image. My hairline is receding and has a lot of baby hairs at the edges. I can see my scalp if I lift my hair, I feel like hair on my whole head is getting thinner

I'd say it's male pattern balding but my father had hair, my mother has hair, my mothers dad had hair, her brother has hair. Wtf

Also I can only grow a scrawy neckbeard + mustache.

Oils can be used to make it more soft. The hair on your face is more like your pubic hair so it wont be as soft, in addition the face doesnt produce as much oils as your head. So yeah make your own beard oil to keep it more aoft while it griws out. Once you have some length its not as itch inducing.

It was castor oil as well if I remeber right.
I now use homemade beard wax, 50% coconut oil 50% bees wax. Doesnt feel sticky and doesnt cause any skin issues. Adjust ratio toward beeswax for stronger hold if needed some use 2bees to 1 coconut for hold.

Anyway you asked oil so try coconut oil on your skin and see how it reacts.

Why do people go to barbers for haircuts? All the ones I've ever seen are either low IQ turks who know 3 popular hairstyles or basedboys who aren't any more skilled. Every time I've went to one they have always either fucked something up or given very generic terrible cuts meanwhile I go to a hairdresser where I'm his only male client but I trust him completely.

For example I'm the anon who posted a while ago about showing my hairdresser a manga image. He looked this picture of Jeremy from Cruel God for about 5 seconds before cutting my hair from shoulder length long tadzio curls to a very cute haircut that is close to the pic while also complimenting my face in about 20-25 mins using only a razorblade for maximum curly texture. if I went to a turk he would have just given me the zoomer instant ramen hair

jesus fucking christ
ive always been hairy, even having some hair growing from my fingers a little bit
ive been on minox for months now and the other day i started to have suspicions that i was growing extra hair on my arms. i sort of dismissed it though since its not possible for me to count the fucking hairs to see if more have grown or whatever. today i noticed my finger hair was disgustingly long. i just shaved it off in disgust. i looked at an older hand pic that i conveniently had saved and the hair was barely noticeable there, as it had always been. today it was long and grotesque. fucking blech. i feel like im going to turn into pic related if i dont get off this shit

What styles would you be asking for/What style do you have currently?. Hairdressers will give you whatever cut your want. If they try to offer you a different cut or talk you out of your style it's because they care about you and don't want you walking around with a ill fitting 1950s haircut that makes you look like an school shooter. It's like the hippocratic oath but not to let anyone end up looking like they browse lookism

Obviously I always get the twink colour and cut and have curls so hairdressers usually like styling me but (aside a really gay polish hairdresser who said I was a "butiful boy" and that he wanted to take pictures of me and make me his muse) they have never done anything weird or tried to give me a hairstyle I didn't ask for. In fact when I was a retarded tween I would make female hairdressers with plenty protestation give "cool" "manly" short hair that looked terrible and kneecapped my attractiveness massively.

Have any curly haired anons tried Umberto Giannini Scrunching Jelly? or know a curl mousse that gives a more gentle hold?

His shampoo and conditioner have really made my frizz better and given me better volume but my current Pantone mousse makes my hair almost rock hard and I hate it. I'd rather have a mousse with a ligher more flexible hold or no even hold. Scrunching Jelly would be nice if it could do the job of my left in conditioner and my mousse without making my hair hard enough to hit with a hammer. At the same time I've had plenty of lackluster leave in specific products.

>>17193925

my current routine is

>shampoo and rinse hair with Humbero Panini Curl Jelly shampoo
>condition with Umberto Eco Curl Jelly conditioner and spend a while running my fingers through my hair, massaging it, messing it up, flicking it, fluffing it, flouncing it etc. to work the conditioner and help the de-tangling before rinsing it
>towel dry my hair
>scrunch in some more of the conditioner and leave it in (works better than leave in for me)
>apply mousse depending on how I want it.
>make sure it dry before I go to bed

Really dumbass question I know but genuinely, how do I tell if I have curly hair or not? I've had mine cut short all my life until this year and initially thought of it as straight or wavy, but it curls up hard when exposed to moisture or the wind. I'd rather keep it fairly straight but if it's naturally curly I'd rather accept it than fight it.

I have a job interview tomorrow- I’ve never been to one before. I’m a 26 year old woman, FYI. I’m wearing a basic floral blouse and black slacks (not something I’d usually wear and makes me feel like an old lady imposter but whatever). I have really long wavy hair, down to my hips. I’m assuming wearing it down is a no-go for an interview, but the only updo I usually wear is a messy bun with a scrunchy or a butterfly clip. That wouldn’t be clean enough for a job interview, would it? I have no idea how I should do my hair for this- would a plain black hair clip work, or do I need to use pins/an elastic? Do I need to have it all tucked back or are some stray hairs okay? I would really appreciate any tips!!

nta but poofiness is pretty typical when you grow your hair out. There's always an awkward in-between stage where your head and hair looks like an unkempt mop. You can probably shampoo like once a week, twice if you're getting bad dandruff or whatever, but for curly hair "co-washing" is the go-to. Shampoo dries out the hair and loosens the curls. Compare the middle curl on the left where the hair looks noticeably wetter to the same curl on the right when it's noticeably drier.

You dont need expensive conditioner either. The cheap stuff works just as well, for the most part.

My mothers father died before I was born but from what I know he never went bald, and my mothers brothers both have thick hair with receded temples
