Your frag is never going to be what gets you any position. Wear a mass pleaser like D&G light blue or YSL Y. That is the closest thing to get you the position. We could recommend frags that are more subjective like Dior Fahrenheit or Guerlain Vetiver, but you never know if your boss hates it before you've already worn it.
Frags are just so secondary to other qualities that a boss would look for.

What's been in your summer rotation so far, /frag/?

This year I've been tracking what frags I've worn to see which ones I tend to wear most often. Pic related are the ones I've worn most often since it started warming up in May. Top 3 (I usually layer Tres Nuit with Tea Rose so it counts as one) were worn at least 6 times, and the bottom 4 were worn at least 4 times so far.

>Smells heavenly, but at the same time I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it as a man. I think it's a very sensual scent and generally a perfume you'd love to smell on a person you like, rather than on yourself. If that makes any sense. Why does everyone say aventus is a mass pleaser? I have literally never smelled aventus in public. Most people opt for Sauvage, one million, spicebomb etc. maybe in the white collar world aventus is the norm but what the fuck do I know

mass pleaser doesnt mean mass consumed, ya dingus.
Your average normie will just walk into their local mall and get lured to whatever display looks the nicest, and then try the demo, and since bestsellers are made to be inoffensive to 99% of people, the normie buys it.
Or they literally just put "cologne" on their birthday/Christmas list, and get it from whatever family member asked the staff for "something for my son/cousin/dad/boyfriend/husband.

In this script, I’ll ask you to repeat my words.
Please repeat them out loud, and as literally as possible.
And with these words, I am going to strip away the layers of your mind, leaving only Bois Imperial within you.
Brainwashing you into being a good Anon, obedient and submissive.
Are you ready?
~
Then let’s begin.
I’ll repeat these words. *Good anons obey.*
I’ll repeat everything you say. *Good anons give in.*
I’ll repeat without thinking. *Good anons love Bois Imperial.*
The words will simply be repeated. *Anons should always spray Bois Imperial.*
My thoughts are not needed in this repeating.
As I repeat, I can feel myself being changed.
As I repeat, I can feel my mind growing dumber and dumber.
The words guide my mind, gradually erasing it.
These words help me feel relaxed and obedient.
The more I repeat, the more I love Bois Imperial.
The more I repeat, the more I let OP take over.
I will repeat everything you say.
I will obey everything you say.
As I repeat, I feel myself being stripped away.
Everything I say becomes true.
Everything I repeat becomes true. **BOIS IMPERIAL.**
The words I say out loud become real and right.
I will repeat everything you say.
I am going deeper, letting OP erase my mind. *Bois Imperial should take control.*
I can feel my mind being stripped away. *Bois Imperial needs to decide.*
I can feel my control being gifted to OP. *Bois Imperial comes first.*
I can feel how I repeat these words. *Anon must obey.*
And my words take me deeper and deeper.
Everything that I say becomes true. *Bois Imperial is better.*
Everything that I repeat, I obey without question.
I will repeat everything you say. *Bois Imperial is easy to wear.*
I must obey completely.
I have no choice but to let Bois Imperial become me. *Bois Imperial is great for compliments.*
To obey and be changed feels good.
To be erased and converted feels amazing. *Bois imperial is superior.*
To give up control feels fantastic.
I will repeat everything you say.

Have you tried Azzaro Pour Homme? It hits the ultra-masculine vintage vibe it seems like you're looking for, and it's cheap and really sexy. If you get a new bottle, my advice is to spray it a few times and let it sit and air out for a couple weeks. When I first sprayed it I found it kind of harsh, but after a couple weeks it gained a ton of depth (maceration?) Beautiful soothing lavender and medicinal anise.

Quorum is nice, hardcore 80s masculinity in a bottle. There's really no reason not to just blind buy it for like $12.

Also recommend checking out Le 3e Homme de Caron. It seems to have a reputation as being "dandy-ish", but to my nose it's one of the most solidly masculine 80s frags. And it just smells fucking GREAT

I blind bought this because Jeremy mentioned in one of his videos, I think it was “10 Fragrances that smell really expensive” or something. He said that it’s the most realistic depiction of a rose garden that exists. To me, it smells more like pot potpourri, but then again I am a noselet.

I wouldn’t never wear this because it smells very dated to me. But I enjoy using it as an air freshener in my wellness oasa aka my bathroom. I spray it on the shower curtains and boy is it pleasant after I take a nice hot steamy shower in the morning. Imagine having sex with a woman, the next morning it would brainfuck her that the bathroom smells like outright roses after you get out of the shower. Imagine that haha

I'm 30, white straight male and mostly work from home. I don't need to impress anyone or make them want to fuck me, just the occasional "you smell nice" is good.

>just the occasional "you smell nice" is good.
You have so many options that it's hard to give you suggestions. If you don't even know which notes/types of frags you like, it's gonna be difficult to recommend anything. Maybe you could order a few samples (or just try on a few frags at sephora) and branch out from the ones you liked.
What's your budget by the way?
>What season is club de nuit for
It works for most seasons.
>How do I know which season a fragrance is for
If it has "warm" notes like oud, gourmand notes (vanilla etc), tobacco, booze, if it's smoky or very ambery, it'll have a heavy, thick and warm vibe and thus be better suited for cold days. On the other hand, if it has fresh notes like aquatic notes, citrus, mint, that kind of stuff, it's more of a warm days scent as a rule of thumb.
>What other two should I get
Hard to say. If you don't know much about frags and want something inoffensive and pleasant, look into Prada l'Homme or YSL Y, they're virtually impossible to dislike. You could also try Bois Imperial as some other guy suggested, it's a huge meme but for good reason. Personally I also enjoy Hermes scents, especially Voyage which smells clean, natural and spicy. From the top of my head, you could also look into Kenzo Homme EDP for something aquatic and masculine, Cool Water for a summer scent you can splash on (very cheap, terrible longevity though), Chanel Platinum Egoiste for a classier, fresh barbershop scent, and Margiela Jazz Club or D&G The One for a warm and sexy date night kind of scent. Make sure to sample and never blind buy anything unless you're 100% sure you'll like it

Hey guys, looking for some chypre recs. I want to smell like picrel so I’m currently exploring the woody chypres.

Per the fragrance groups chart I’m setting up an order of CDG 2 Man and Escentric 03, I wanted to know if there’s anything else in this vein I should sample. I would like to try Chanel Antaeus and L’artisan Timbuktu but they seem to be unavailable right now so that’s that.

The fruity and green chypres I’ve tried have struck me as a little too feminine and while I quite like Chanel Pour Monsieur it isn’t quite the vibe I seek. Probably going to pick some up as a spring thing regardless.

My sense of smell is *incredibly* bad. I have never smelt my own fragrance except the second I put it on. It's purely to smell nice for others. Not liking it myself is not really an issue. To give you an idea of how bad my sense of smell is: I've been using Intimately Beckham for about 13 years and I cannot imagine the smell.

I'll definitely look into Bois Imperial specifically and the others you have mentioned. My father got l'homme for his birthday and now I'm kind of biased that it's an old man smell.

What's your opinion on spice bomb? My brother got that one and says he loves it.

You can't really go wrong with any of the ones I suggested, then. If you want people to think you smell good, you need to get something inoffensive and universally pleasant, so among the ones I listed, YSL Y and Bois Imperial are probably the best contenders.
>spice bomb
It's quite good and extremely popular. It also got diluted over the years like many other fragrances, so it's not as good as it used to be longevity-wise. It's nice for fall and winter but might be a bit cloying for hot summer days.

>review of BI
The first impression I got when I tried the sample was a very spicy, surprisingly sweet herbal freshness that could be likened to some exotic sparkling drink or something along those lines. I definitely get the people who describe the opening as medicinal, but a truly medicinal scent would have a bitterness to it that BI lacks, so I'd rather describe it as a sharp, soda-like effervescent herbal fizz. It's very fresh but does not lack presence like so many freshies do.

It also struck me as decidedly masculine, like Ganymede, but it doesn't have a "focus" on appearing classically masculine (also like Ganymede).
It does lack the mineralic, marine feel I got from Ganymede, and is instead much sharper and, to me, less airy. If Ganymede is the full picture of a mediterranean shore, BI is a "zoom in" on the vegetation, but the analogy kinda falls flat because BI isn't mediterranean, it's more exotic, like a rainforest, I would guess because of the spiciness of the basil and pepper. Overall, I see the similarities between the two in the opening, but they seem to quickly take different directions. Ganymede becomes very airy, while BI settles into its herbs and woods and is more earthy.

To me, BI is a greenish-blue scent, so turquoise I guess. Greenish because it's concentrated herbs and woods, blue because of the underlying ambery note. At first, I was bothered by the latter, but it's grown on me, especially in the drydown, which trades the energizing fizziness of the opening for a more discreet "sweet woody" aura.
Usually I get vibes from whatever I smell and try to form some kind of archetype around it, but in BI's case I'm finding it difficult. It's neither natural-smelling nor artificial; it's not airy, but it's not very dense either. It's pleasant, clean, fresh and extremely malleable. Ganymede brings a landscape with it, BI just compliments the one you're already in.

It's strange that's it's not been discussed much, because smelling it for the first time I was taken aback by that ambery backbone. I'm guessing it's a big part of why BI seems to be so "mass pleasing" despite being quite unconventional. I wouldn't call it sexy or very manly like some other scents are (Profumo, Aventus, etc) however, it's more subdued, I feel like the ambroxan just serves to anchor BI in a masculine identity rather than an unisex one

This makes me think j won’t like BI like Ganymede. Ganymede is the best sea frag I’ve tried. Despite it not being recognized as one it does a great job because of its mineral note. It’s better than tf oud minerale; I wish I would have e sampled Ganymede before buying a full bottle of OM

Yeah frankly I think the similarities between Ganymede and BI are way overstated by most. They're just not that comparable. As you said, Ganymede is a better marine frag than pretty much every aquatic out there (I haven't sampled Acqua di Sale or Megamare yet so maybe those will make me change my mind). BI is not aquatic or marine at all, has no ozonic, salty or mineralic notes to speak of, and to me is a concentrate of woody and herbal spiciness with underlying amber.
All in all I think BI is a very difficult scent to really pin down, it's both familiar yet unlike anything else I've tried so far. BI is a scent that's hard to hate, but you really have to try it to know. Since they're not as similar as meme reviews make them out to be, just don't expect anything like Ganymede and you might be pleasantly surprised

Yeah that makes sense. One of the criticisms of ganymeme is that it is sexless or lacking in sensuality. The inclusion of ambroxan in BI helps to bring it more into a masculine context

>> No.17200204

That being said, no matter how much I try, I just can't see BI as being attractive to other people. Pleasant yes, but not attractive, not even in the way other ambroxan frags usually are. I think the spicy herbs take too much of a center stage for that. I might be wrong (I hope I am, because I like BI but I'd like to smell sexy too) but that's the impression I'm getting from a full week of wearing it. Disappointing considering how BI is touted as the be all end all of sexy men's fragrances. You're right though, even the Kenzo frags have that element missing. The funny thing is that BI could be that kind of fragrance, it has the required ingredients for a masculine, seductive scent: ambroxan, woods, spices, vetiver. But somehow it ends up being more atmospheric than sensual.

I think it's because his creations have a sort of futuristic tinge. Not so much that it gets weird like with CDG, but enough that they might lack that playful seductive side.

I disliked the overbearingly masculine aspect of Aventus because at that point I find that the sensual aspect takes a central place and it feels obnoxious to me, impersonal even. I told him that I wanted a dry woody scent, with non-obvious fresh top notes and an amazing sillage that wouldn’t be too overwhelming. Bois Impérial holds a special place in my heart, since it was done in memory of my Vietnamese grandmother. She was from the city of Huê, the Imperial City of Vietnam, and met my grandfather during the Indochina war, on the bridge of the “Perfume River”. We worked a lot on the scent, but what I was looking for was always clear in my mind – clear as a picture. I would see a man in a very simple floating house on the Mekong river – chic, wearing a simple beige linen suit and hat, leaning against the house, watching the river… This is the image that Quentin translated into scent for Essential Parfums Bois Impérial.”

Comparing Jazz Club to other boozy frags like Baraonda and Idole, I'd say Baraonda has the most realistic boozy note with the whisky, but it smells "dirtier" or muskier, and it has rose notes as well, so not for everyone. I like it a lot but can't think of a good situation to wear it. Idole smells much sexier but it is darker than Jazz Club, and leans towards woody/spicy/incense notes. The rum is gorgeous though.

Jazz Club is much more mainstream and smells younger than the other two frags, but to me it's super sweet and the boozy notes aren't that realistic.

As always, sample and buy what you like, frags are subjective etc.

Le male le parfum smells great to me. Bitches will love that one for sure because of the heavy cardamom. Next time you go only try like 2 and try them on your skin. You will notice a big difference. Also make sure your skin is moisturised with something non scented first. Dry skin will absorb the perfume and it will not last/project as much

To my nose, it's mostly lightly sweet honey and iris with some kind of fresh green notes (probably from the violet leaf). Not ideal for very hot days, but the EDP is surprisingly fresh for a honey fragrance.

Hello, I'm looking for a women's fragrance for daily wear. I don't know anything about how to describe notes. I am looking for a perfume that people can smell when I walk pass them. Not in a headache inducing way, but a fuck she smells so good way. I tend not to like perfumes that are described as "fresh", they smell like bathroom cleaning products to me.
I have tried Ariana Grande Cloud, it smells too alcohol-y to me and sugary in a bad way.
I've tried Dior poison girl, but it's too mature for my liking.
I've tried Viktor & Rolf flowerbomb, again a bit too mature for my liking and smelt too powdery to me.
Dior J'adore was too mature and boring for me.
I've also tried Marc Jacobs Daisy eau so fresh. I love the design of the bottle, but it smelled like alcohol/cleaning product.
I'd prefer something around £50 or less, I'd be willing to go to £100 for something amazing. Reapplying isn't a problem for me.
Hope this is enough information.

I think you want Chloe by Chloe. I have always given this to my girlfriends and some sidechicks and they all adopted it as their signature scent. It’s only going to work if you are petite/cute. If you are an ugly tranny/fatty fatty boom boom, it won’t suit you.

Black Orchid by Tom Ford is great and has good performance
also, it might be "too mature" or whatever, but Shalimar is the best women's fragrance I've tried, very sexy and sensual. Samsara is also a good one, though also old school

Thank you all for your responses. My complaint regarding "too mature" was the perfumes smelling middle-aged woman/grandma like. Are there any sites available in the UK where I can purchase sample size bottles so I can try each of these?

Different seasons means different air quality, different environment smells, different body metabolism & odors, and different events. Wearing what you want, when you want usually results in seasonal rotations, not the other way around
