2. You cannot just drop a different movement on an existing dial, hands and case. These elements must be designed to work with the movement.
3. at $300-400, it is also not worth getting that watch serviced.

You should be able to pull up diagrams for the two movements and see if the dial height is different. I think the hand stack is slightly less spaced out but even if the dial height is lower too you shouldn't have clearance issues unless you have appied indicies, a printed dial wont stick up enough to interfere

Own one myself. Absolutely gorgeous dial for the price, and the movement is alright. My only gripe with it is that it has a hardlex crystal rather than sapphire. That being said there are no marks or scratches on mine even though I've banged it into some things over time.

Chrono24 is mostly reliable but if you want your watch at any point in the near future avoid any international sellers. They'll wait upwards of 3 weeks to ship the thing and then you have to wait for snail mail asian shipping from a lot of dealers.

You need to take it to someone for the Seiko 5. They general have garbage movements in them so the watchmaker you take it to will just replace the whole thing for $60 or so. What happened is you probably knocked the impulse out of the pallet seat or it's magnetized. Ionno until I or they take a look.

I don't even know of this is actually verified or just theorized but they idea is that the powermatic 80 is cheap enough to make that when you send a watch into swatch for service its cheaper for them to just take out the old movement and put in a new one than it is to pay someone to take it apart and clean and regulate it. I don't think its been around long enough for many to actually have gone in for service at this point and watches that have been repaired under warranty might have just had defective movements so they were replaced.
The cheaper versions of the powermatic 80 use plastic parts and when they are worn out i wouldn't be surprised if they just replace the whole movement instead of replacing the parts and then regulating it.

If a movement, in house or not, is made in a quantity in the thousands, there is ZERO chance that they take your movement out of your watch and repair it if you send it back to a manufacturer. That would be complete idiocy on their part. They take your movement out and send it to a remanufacturing unit, and replace it with a movement that has already been remanufactured from someone elses watch. Doing it differently would just be incurring cost for no reason and not allowing specialists to focus on tasks.

They aren't going to incur cost to make sure your watch gets sent back to you with the same jewels.
