I think the issue here isn't dressing up, but the weird combinations. Yellow gloves are hard to wear already, and I understand that he wanted to match the yellow tie, that's already really bold, so you need something subtle to tone it down. However, he blows it out of proportion by wearing a coat that doesn't go well with the other colors and even has a prominent pattern.

This, non-Chads generally give better fashion advice because they have to go the extra mile to look good. If something looks good on an out-of-shape goblino, it'll look amazing on anyone even slightly attractive.

He has no taste, no style of his own.
He wears stuff because it is unique/rare/expensive, not because he actually like it or because it looks good with the outfit.

People make this mistake with bespoke, they go to buy a suit and order all kinds of wacky unique details like action backs, contrating buttonholes, and a really bold fabric that you can't buy ready-to-wear.
But it looks horrendous and you would have been better to buy the most plain looking suit imaginable.

Hugo Jacomet is the opposite.
While Hugo does have some pretty crazy stuff too, 99% of the time he wears a plain grey or navy suit.
If Sven also did that, if in the majority of his videos he just wore a plain grey or navy suit, he would look great and everyone here would say he has great taste.

outfit 1 is something i would see in the 1930s on the french riviera, and even then, only Charles Trenet could pull off a white double breasted jacket with baby blue pants.These days, you could only get away with this in Montecarlo or at a wedding maybe. On him, it's just LARP.

outfit 2 is ok if you remove the hat. I get that he's trying to copy old fits, but if he adapted it and if the pants were slimer, that would correct his fat legs.

outfit 3 is terrible, the pattern of the coat doesn't go with yellow tie and gloves.

Everything Hugo gets is bespoke so he has a very finely tuned sense of proportions, he knows exactly what kind of lapel shape he wants, how big he wants the shoulder roll, how much he wants the jacket to open at the bottom, what kind of shirt collar he wants, which angle the points go in, etc.

When you open your eyes to proportions, you don't need fancy accessories. Proportions are the accessories, you can have a wardrobe of exclusively plain grey suits but all with different proportions and they will all be unique and interesting.
