Honestly it's the first chemical exfoliant that I learned about, started using it when I was 18 and have always had such good results I never felt the need to try any others. I've considered salicylic, but the AHA keeps my skin smooth enough that gunk doesn't really get a chance to build up in the pores anyway.

I bought a tub of Some By Mi's Propolis B5 mask on a whim while restocking and after using it twice I actually think it's pretty nice. I'm using it immediately after the lactic acid and glycerin, and it seems to be taking the lactic acid sting/burn out much faster than usual.

start with AHA, and a peel if I was you. I can use a peel and get rid of my pores with just that. Having a good AHA situation can for some people, solve all problems, so don't overwhelm your skin with a ton of new products.
When you stabilize to that routine, then consider low dose retinoid and move on from there. Get a good moisturizer.

Also do you apply moisturizer to your armpits or crotch after shaving? I'm 28 and still get breakouts (surface level white-heads and blocked pores, not cystic acne) because my skin is just very sensitive.
Try washing your pillowcases regularly, lowering your sugar intake if it is very high, and try a new shampoo/conditioner. Hell, if you wear headphones regularly, make sure to wipe them down regularly to remove oil and dirt.
Introducing more products isn't necessary but can definitely help. A gentle tea-tree or witch hazel toner can help lower the chances of infection in tiny abrasions on the skin.

Maybe you need to actually wash your face for longer. Rub the cleanser in, rinse partially with water and then apply more cleanser. The difference between a 1-minute wash and a 5-minute wash can make a huge difference in some people, especially if you already have larger or deeper pores.

you don't need moisturizer if you're trying to reduce oil production with benzoyl peroxide

it is an exfoliant (like salicylic acid) with anti-microbial properties so it can help prevent spotty skin but if you use it too much, it can make your skin appear dry and flaky even while it is still producing too much oil

best results are obtained with intermittent use of exfoliants; only use exfoliants when you start getting black heads or comedones from excess oil, typically once a weak or so to act in a preventative manner.

more than that and you risk irritating the top layers and this can open you up to infection, redness and swelling

it is great to have a routine but not all routines need to be enacted daily

still, 5% wash is milder than 10% wash so your instincts are correct

It seems like my skin there constantly thinks it's irritated and needs to quickly replicate the cells and replace the old skin.

I'd see a dermatologist really, but seems similar to a thing I have/had (still in treatment). I literally have cells regrowing too quickly on the sides of my nostrils and they largely looks red/mildly irritated for months. Never spread but was prone to flaking and staying red with no pain. They got me on Pimecrolimus 1% cream as a immune suppressant, twice a day. It started to work well in the first few weeks but plateaued. I was also on clindamycin and tretinoin on their daily stuff to take care of minor acne. After a year I just stopped taking the tretinoin things got notably better around the nose. I think it was too much drying/suppressing action from taking all 3.

I think the root cause of acne is low level systemic inflammation. For some subset of the population this will be fixed by removing the offending agents (e.g seed oils, dairy, gluten, soaps, pollen, viral infection, poor sleep, stress) unique to the individual.

What am I in for?
I don't have particularly dry skin, at least not on my face, but I've read that ceramide are essential to good skin so I thought why not.

Just applied a bit of both on my body, the red one is parfumed and the blue is not. The smell of the red is pretty tolerable and not that strong but I can still smell it on my legs after a few hours. It's hard to describe it, I'd say it's somewhat close to what baby products or laundry detergents usually smell like, like sort of chemical and "homely". I don't think you'll particularly like the smell but whether or not it's tolerable depends on you. But compared to my nivea creme it's not very strong.

yeah can guarantee everyone here just has an inflammation problem. They eat foods their bodies don't respond well to. I stopped getting acne once i just made a baseline for myself with diet and then avoided eating too much of stuff prone to break me out like watermelon. Now I branch off the base diet and just go back to it when I notice acne - if it bothers me enough.

In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

Sounds like you know a lot about oily skin. My skin is really really oily, I dont get pimples, none, but I do get blackheads on my checks and nose, so, the thing is I use a cheap neutrogena BHA exfoliating 3 times per week, and moisturizer at night, if I want my skin to be hidrated but not oily, what should I im for? A oily moisturizer in the morning? Or what? Im latino so my skin is brownish and when it gets shiny, it looks quite bad. I do look young (look 24 im 28) without any routine, so I want to help my genetics.

>MISSHA All Around Safe Block Aqua Sun Gel.
>PURITO Oat-In Calming Gel Cream (I experimented with a lot of moisturizers because most would break me out, due to them being too thick and clogging pores. I've been using this for a while and haven't had problems).
>ALPHA H LIQUID GOLD, with Glycolic Acid 5% (all in one exfoliant, toner and serum).
>COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch (literal lifesaver when you get a whitehead a day before an event, or even in the day of. I like this one as opposed to the Purito one, because it's cheaper, yet works just as well, but also because it has the smallest size, 9×13 mm).

I have pili multigemini and extremely thick, curly leg hair and basically all of my issues are solved by just scrubbing the absolute shit out of them with a rough exfoliating mitt or brush every night in the shower. I wax once a week to keep up (women or faggot, u decide) and a large portion of the hairs grow up to an inch under the surface before becoming inflamed and needing to be dug out manually. Exfoliating stops that entirely and reduces scarring as long as I keep it up every day.

This is kind of a misconception - Your skin is more sensitive to the sun because it is fresh 'baby' skin being regularly turned over by the retinol product, not because of a reaction in the retinol product itself.
If anything, it's a waste of product because the UV radiation breaks down the retinol before it has time to work.

Climate: hot swampy southeast USA

Routine: Skin cycling.
Day 1: Exfoliation. I just use Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Acne Wash

Day 2: Retinoid. Haven't found a favorite yet but I've been using different retinoid creams.

Day 3: Do nothing.

I avoid greasy fast foods and occasionally partake in a diet coke. I eat salads and mediterranean type foods think Cava and Sweetgreen.
