The most striking thing when you compare both is how the Sub is so much more proportioned.
The case is really thin on the Sub so they had room to make a thick and sturdy bezel.
The Black Bay on the other hand has a thick case and thin bezel. This immediately gives the impression of a more fragile watch.
The Sub looks overall a lot more compact and solid.

No and it’s because professional flippers literally make their income by going from AD to AD, telling a sob story about how they’re celebrating a wedding or birth of a child or whatever and how they’ve always wanted a Rolex and getting their name put on the waiting list, then they go to the next and repeat ad infinitum.

I know this sounds laughable, but this is why many Rolex ADs will actually interview clients for up to an hour before even putting them on a waiting list. Go browse WUS or the Rolex forums if you want to see some really sad stories.

I can't think of any other industry where the customers go in and try and flatter a retail sales assistant into letting them spend thousands of dollars on an overpriced luxury item. It's fucking backwards. Working for a Rolex AD must be the world's easiest job. It also wouldn't surprise me if the sales people took backhanders from clients. Seems like more watches end up on the grey market than in real customers' hands. Hopefully the recession will put a stop to all these influencers , crypto bros and content creators propping up these ludicrous prices in the secondary market.

I agree with you on all counts and will not buy Rolex as long as it continues. However it does happen in other luxury circles, mainly cars and handbags. People often make fun of Patek preferred client listings, but Patek is Mother Theresa compared to how Ferrari treats their customers. Rolex is pure marketing. The only people who want one and wear one are people that know ziltch about fashion and watches. You can thank boomers. In fact, before something like 2004 they sucked balls and people only wanted them because of the advertisements. It's a brand for easily influenced and impressionable people who are insecure so they need something to show off, like lots of blacks.

After reading as much as I could, I bought a Noob Rep from Pure Time. I got the Omega Seamaster with the orange bezel. It was supposed to be really great! Almost immediately one button fell out of the clasp and I have to use something pointy to stick in the clasp to get it to release. Then almost immediately the date window stopped working. The orange started wearing off the bezel and it looks terrible. Half washed out. I tried to buy a new bezel and the ones from Omega are a different size than this "Really Great" Noob replica. Now today the bracelet fell apart and who knows if an Omega bracelet will fit? Probably not. I went to Pure Time with these concerns and he just says buy another one. Thanks for nothing.

This has certainly soured me on the rep market.

If you want a blingy leisure watch, just get a two tone Datejust.

Casio knows their customers better than the customers know themselves. Everyone was asking for a full metal 2100 and now everyone is complaining that it's too expensive. There are different types of customers and Casio knows the ones that settle for chinese kits and the ones that want the real thing. It never changes.

Whats the opinion on sector watches?

>> No.17155513

>>17155447

That is complete bullshit though. The modules may go through the same tests but not the resin watches, or else the shared tests are shit tier so the metal ones can pass.

The resin 5600 was ran over by a fucking steamroller and the resin took the hit and the watch was ok and alive. Do you honest to God believe one of these expensive metal ones or the 1k+ multi part ones would survive a steamroller?

A lot of the shock absorption of the watch happens because of the resin bezel and flexible resin straps.

That metal gshock literally died because of shock to the module that the casing failed to absorb or mitigate.
