some of today's sampling
>Antaeus
another /frag/ meme. Not as pissy as I remembered, if you want to smell exactly like an old man would, it's the frag for you. Really, I like most of old-school stuff, but this is literally grandpacore. Great performance which is a downside in this case
>TH H24 is so fucking shit lmao,"metallic note" my ass, synthetic sweet banana which gets bearable after an hour or two, absolute shit. It's like someone making a banana candy without using anything but synthetic ingredients. Trash
>TH Eau Intense Vetiver
absolutely great, good performance, citrusy but not too bitter, nice vetiver, just great. Added to my want list
>JOOP homme!
synthetic sweet cherry crap like I remembered lol gaybar bottom-core
>YSL (C)opium
smelled good on paper, meh on my skin
>TF Eau du soleil
Good but not as good on skin
>TF EDP oud wood
amazing, really something different and great. I now want an oud frag.

Also, apparently they do give samples. Saw 2 people get one so I asked. I will exploit it next time, and be sure to ask different employees every time eheheheh I also know there's another ICI paris in town I'll go there too. I think I'll get TF frags next time (I got LBF for my mom)

Think essentials parfums will ever raise the price? I was thinking about stocking up on bois. want to try fig infusion too. Anyone ever try that? BTW for all you fags out there, if you didn't know, you can use FULLBOTTLE on lucky scent for 20 dollars off, so bois is only 60 bucks

cringe takes tbqh
oud wood is overhyped, overpriced frag that lasts like an eau de cologne and barely smells of oud, just a load of cardamom and synthetic woods
H24 has a prominent metallic note in the drydown
Antaeus is a masterpiece and too unique to smell like a grandpa (unless your grandpa wore Antaeus lol)

I do agree that TdH Intense Vetiver is nice though, very good cheaper alternative to Grey Vetiver

I will never get Antaeus and Kouros, so outdated and pissy. Really no way someone young can pull it off imo, everyone (but maybe middle aged people) will hate it. It's just not pleasant. Can't me only me. Same for Azzaro PH. Some Fougeres are nice but some are just too much.

I figured out what this smells like and now I have aquired a taste for it. Right so after watching the advert on YouTube, it turns out this is supposed to smell like water. And then it hit me, you know that tingling sensation you get in your nostrils when you inhale water through your nose? That’s what this fragrance feels like. It evokes nostalgic memories of almost drowning in a swimming pool. If you enjoy that sensation, this is a good fragrance for you.

This scent is more of a feeling than a smell, kinda like chilli on the tongue is a feeling and not a taste

it's okay. I've never tried Tuscan leather. This one reminds me of a cheap Clubman aftershave. Leather reserve or something. It's not that good IMO.
>Tobacco Vanille clone
Very sweet but it's pretty nice. a bit smoky and spicy. it'd make a great fall scent. I haven't tried the original to compare.
>Platinum Egoiste clone
it's alright, not identical but close to the original. If you like one, I think you'll like the other because they're very close. But it's not quite as good for me.
>Fahrenheit clone
now this one was actually really good. I was pretty surprised how close it is. I don't have a bottle of Fahrenheit with me to compare but in my brain this clone smells exactly like how fahrenheit did when I sprayed it on myself at the mall a week ago. I tried a 20mL sample and it was like $7. For 100mL it'd be about $30. At this price I am considering buying a larger bottle of it. It's very good.

The other four like I said weren't bad but weren't great either. But at least for me I feel like I made out alright. I was afraid this would be a total scam but it's pretty decent.

I'm thinking maybe I'll get like 100mL of this fahrenheit clone and then decant it into an empty fahrenheit bottle just to get the cool bottle for it

You’re just ugly or only moderately attractive. I am complimented by women all the time but then again women very often hit up on me themselves in clubs and elsewhere anyways. Perhaps try Bois Imperial though. It’s my most complimented scent. If it’s not going to get you complements then nothing will

>> No.17155363

Women give compliments to guys they know, preferably for a longer time, otherwise it might be seen as a flirting attempt and they might not want that. Once you're in a relationship (or once they know you are), they dish compliments out like cookies.

Meanwhile men have randomly asked me what frag I was wearing.

Maybe you’re just average looking and the hotties don’t want you to think that they’re flirting with you, but the ugly people don‘t care. But they probably think you smell good anyway.

Also, im not insinuating that you are ugly but if a guy is ugly/creepy and smells good, it’s creates a cognitive dissonance and you either don’t register them as the source of the smell or you find the smell annoying even though it sounds good. I experienced this today in the supermarket, a creepy pleb was wearing the OG Aqua fi Gio.

Maybe you should start wearing something that not everybody wears. Have you heard of Bois Imperial? It will make you smell like a main character.

And the last one I don't talk so much about is, Perry Ellis 360 Red! I love it man. It's the dildo of the fragrance industry and... Yeah. It's not so funny actually. Still don't know how to talk about the topic of masturbating. It’s difficult man. I do it and I don’t cum er you know? It’s like a- If I can be that honest but it’s simply to boost my RAH power type of vibe. *deep inhale* Alright, ultimately of course I want to have a girlfriend and a wife. I agree on Bois Imperial. The scent DNA, dry Akigalawood combined with Pepper and some freshness, leaves a capturing and attractive scent trail behind. The longevity and projection is also very good and it helps that people will smell you.
It's the perfect combination between woody, fresh and earthy, adding in something modern. Probably the perfect niche on a reasonable price.

Depending on the woodiness, they are usually more popular with men than with women. Most hyped "compliment getters" aren't that woody, at all. Stuff like TdH smells good and underlines a personality, but when it comes to the "I want to smell this on a man"-factor, they rank rather low. There are whole notes sorely created to capture that atmosphere. Pepperwood, Iso E super, Timbersilk, Akigalawood etc. depends on the concoction, it could be really nice.
And Bois Imperial capture it really good. Probably imagine Ikea but with an high quality fresh peppery air freshener in the room.
