There's a reason you can just walk into an AD and buy one. It's sad because Omega has probably the best mass produced movements right now but their designs are so uninspired. Am I gonna regret getting this? I wanted a G-Shock with Bluetooth but they're all either hideous or too expensive. How well does the solar charging work? Is atomic sync a meme?

Also before some idiot says something, this is NOT a DW-5600. It's a G5600e. It's basically like the GWM-5610 but with a less aggressive appearance.

It's 99% meme. The atomic will be 100% on-time, but a regular G-Shock is going to be pretty accurate anyway for the non-autistic community.

I have a non-Atomic Mudman that I adjust twice per year for Daylight Saving and, compared to my MB6 watch, it's never more than a few seconds off. At the rate it loses time, it would be years before it's even a minute slow.

JLC who has been coasting on the Master Control, Polaris, and Reverso forever? Cartier who has produced variations on the same watches for a hundred years? All the brands in that mid to high end luxury range are extremely conservative with their designs. Cost.
They could make the tolerance +/- 5 or even +/- 1 second per month, but that would require additional precision in manufacturing and additional time spent on QC, plus risking more product being rejected in QC.

15 seconds is a perfectly reasonable tolerance for the vast majority of customers and is easy for them to achieve with their current manufacturing setup.

You know what's the problem with Omega?
The fact you can tell their marketing team have taken over the company.
>limited editions
>brand ambassadors
>collaborations
>Moonswatch
>James Bond
>20 new models every 6 months
>stupid marketing stunts
I know all brands spend a shit ton of money on marketing but when I look at Patek, Rolex, JLC, Nomos, Seiko or whatever, it feels like these companies are run by watchmakers. They build the watches they want, then they tell their marketing team to advertise them.
Omega feels like the other way around."Hey Rolex has these colorful Oyster Perpetuals that sell like hot cakes, let's do the same thing with our most popular model". I unironically put them in the same category as Hublot, Tag Heuer or Breitling.

Which is ironic since Rolex was a marketing exercise from the start. In their earliest decades they didn't manufacture anything, they just licensed patents from other watchmakers and poured the rest of their money into constant advertising.

Brand Ambassadors? Rolex was paying Mercedes Gleitze to wear a Rolex watch while swimming across the English Channel back in the 1920s.

I don't know why you're being such a retard about this. If your G-Shock is faster or slower by more than 15 seconds a month it's literally out of spec and it's a sign that it's broken or fake. I only change the time on my watches only during DST and keep track of the change. My best are around 5 seconds a month and the rest are within spec. The only one that is out of spec is over 15 years old, hasn't had a battery change in who knows how long, and it had some oxidation, likely from water damage. That one varies wildly and it can be fast by 35-40 seconds a month. You can use the trimmer screw to fix the accuracy and if you are autistic enough you can get it within 1 second a year.

Why do rolexfags have some autistic hatred of Omega?

>> No.17140969

It's all just trolling.

Everyone with half a brain knows the quality difference between Omega and rolex is minimal. The main difference between the two is that Omega has more SKUs and less of a defined overall aesthetic.

Honestly, neither.
These may be the best options you have in that budget, but at the same time these are not very good watches.
The 3k-5k budget is a very tricky one. That's a huge chunk of money but there isn't anything really that interesting, original, or fancy. I'm unironically more excited by a 700€ Baltic than by any Omega or Tudor in the 5k price range. Keep in mind the other options you have in that budget are shit tier brands like Montblanc, Oris, Nomos or even worse Frederique Constant. This says a lot about how tricky that price range is.

I'm looking for specification info on SNKL41, but getting different results. Some sites say case size is 37mm, others are saying it's 38mm, and amazon says it's 35mm. Does anyone here own this watch and know what the actual size is? Also, what's the difference between that and SNKL41J1? Any reason why I should get one over the other outside of color?

Yea it's hilarious because in the books James Bond is wearing an Explorer (just like Ian Fleming) and in the earlier movies he's wearing a Submariner. Rolex never paid Fleming nor the movie studio to be associated with James Bond. All of these people decided Bond should be wearing a Rolex because it's the best watch.
But then the butthurt niggers at Omega came to the movie studio and asked "c-cames James Bond wear an Omega please? We'll give you money."

Those posters are obviously joking. I don’t really think Rolex or Omega make sense for the modern Bond. The guy wore Brioni suits for a lot of movies and drives an Aston Martin with the implication being he’s a government hit man with very good taste, so I don’t see him being happy with a mass market watch. Has to be a diver since he beats people to death every movie and maybe he uses the bezel to time how long til an explosion goes off. I think a Blancpain would fit him better.

Also the Rolex watches were never great gadgets but the laser Seamaster was GOAT

This is very telling because it shows how little people in these threads understand about the watch Industry.

Omega's best selling line is the constellation or DeVille (can't remember which). They almost discontinued the speedy in the 90s because of low sales

Likewise, Rolex's best selling watch is the ladies datejust.

The world does not revolve around watch obsessed weirdos.
