I'd recommend sucking on my Fat Cock Pour Homme.
The opening is quite pungent, especially after a gym session, musky, manly.
The middle notes are intoxicating, you can't stop sucking on it.
The drydown (well, the wetdown) is something to behold: some days you can pick up salt, but most of the times it's a creamy, sweet taste I mean scent.

Unfortunately, performance is just 2 minutes.

Cape Heartache
Sampled this a while back, initially thought it was nice but too basic in the strawberry, however returning to it I found the mistiness of the pine and wood enchanting and pronounced throughout the drydown. Simple but pleasing enough for frequent office wear. Purchased a full bottle while giving me an opportunity to sample most of the collection.

The Soft Lawn 2.0
Yeah, it's rubber and ivy. Not even to an offensive degree, it's fine and even it gets less astringent over time, but still rather meh.

Yesterday Haze
Hard to describe initially, I don't get the fruitiness of the fig but a pleasant hazy astringent mix with the wood and nuts. The creaminess comes through and it smooths out quite elegantly. Long lasting subtle sweetness. Worth a try if you like By the Fireplace and such.

Every Storm a Serenade
Extremely watery (calone), with fennel (maybe from the eucalyptus and spruce, others claim carrots) and only a tiny bit of salt, on the opening, then rapidly (mere minutes) settles into the same spruce and vetiver as Encre Noir but a tad lighter. It's okay, just not worth the additional price.

>> No.17131859

>>17131857
Slow Explosions
Opened powdery, almost baby powder but slightly bitter or sour, then came forth the cool leather like Ombre Leather, but it slowly over the day gets taken over by generic sweetness until that's all that's left. Also I dropped the spray vial and fucking smashed it, so that's that.

A City on Fire
It literally just smells like barbecue. Not as much smoke but the actual sauce, spicy and sweet. Scrubbed off because I didn't feel like waiting that out.

O'Unknown
It smells like a ream of fresh cut paper. A slight sweetness, there's something specific that this reminds me of that I cannot remember, maybe salt water taffy and its smell of wax paper wrappers, others say chewing gum. I don't detect the tea much, despite prominently advertised.

Sundrunk
Citrisy but a more artifical one, again similar to a candy or soda. The neroli contributes to it smelling like pool toy vinyl. I'm not familiar with rhubarb if that's even in there. Not as long lasting but overall is pleasant summery feel.

I have a few more.

to me it's more male-leaning, since it's based on a famous 18th century male cologne (4711) and neroli is kind of soapy and a traditionally masculine floral note
it smells nice, starts with a natural-smelling lemon and goes more and more into that clean, soapy white floral. very simple and minimal everyday fragrance, safe and inoffensive and very cheap. performance is mediocre overall but pretty good for this kind of fresh fragrance at this price point

if you want to have an idea of what it smells like before buying, try out Neroli Portofino at a store, it smells very similar. but for 10$ you might as well blind buy and just use it as bathroom spray if you don't like it lol

'sup guys

im twenty and looking for a Everyday-Frag.
i dont care about uniqueness that much.
I live in Europe and i have a summer frag lined up so something for Autumn would be ideal.

My dad wears Aqua die Gio and i find it super boring and to aquatic. I want something that is spicy and playful and i like citrus. I usually wear a shirt or a simple but clean style. I want to come across as masculine but i feel Leathery scents would be inauthentic?

Ideal Price would be something like 75$ / 100ml (=6.4 oz). idont mind it being cheaper of course.

Sell it or swap it.
Fragrances are taste-based, so I don't know why people think they make good gifts. Probably because of the insane margins and therefore hefty pricetag.

Semi-related story:
The Scent Absolute was the first frag I blind-bought and it instantly healed me from blind-buying, because it sucks. Sold it (on eBay with regular bidding).
It also healed me from believing anything on fragrantica, because they find all that woodiness, smokiness and what not in it, but it's just fruity and very linear. By now some people on fragrantica compare it to Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo Signature, of which I also own a bottle, and they smell nothing alike.

I sampled suggestions from these threads after I ruled out the ones I certainly wouldn't like (aquatics), sniffed stuff at the store or bought samples, bought bottles of stuff I liked. Some samples have been great, others have been horrible. It's a mixed bag, and so are single-fragrange-suggestions.

Uh... I'm reading through all the sticky info. In the meantime if you have a chance for recommendations:

> Provide your age range.
I'm 29, Male

> Provide the season or climate you intend to wear the fragrance in.
Los Angeles, so generally hot and summery.

> Provide your ideal price range for buying a recommended frag.

I think like $200 is the max I'd be willing to spend but I don't fully understand the price ranges yet

> Provide some details on what type of scent you are looking for (favorite notes and accords, hated notes and accords, etc.)

Mainly for dates. Bisexual male, mostly interested in other men right now if that matters. I'm more on the masculine side, but I'm open to more gender neutral scents.

Was wondering if there were any scents out there that would be generally attractive to men and women.

> Provide some details on your intended aesthetic and setting for wearing a scent (frag for school, the office, dates, casual daily wear, etc.)

Mainly for going out with friends, going on dates, meeting new people, etc

Thanks <3

Could just be me, I didn't give it any chance. For smoky I would try Hiram Green Hyde or Burning Barbershop, or any number of incense ones.

They're generous in their 8 samples (and 2 additional freebies), but I'm struggling to find 8 that I'd recommend trying.

>as with anything physical stores almost always overprice their stuff.
They're not necessarily overpriced, it's just that they can't keep up with online stores in terms of competitiveness, as those are able to generate much higher turnover with fewer expenses. I don't say buy all your perfume physically, but making use of customer services unique to physical stores (sampling frags, taking advice, etc.) and THEN going ahead and buying online is absolutely cancerous behavior. Lady at my local perfume store even went through the trouble of getting me a decant of Fahrenheit Parfum because their store didn't have a tester in stock, I got it next time I went there, no questions asked. Now of course I won't consider buying it online even if it's ten bucks cheaper there, at least that's my attitude.

I fucking wish; this general basically introduced me to the concept of blind buying. Before I came here, I didn't consider that anyone would even do that, let alone that it's a normal procedure apparently, with people talking about "safe blind buys" for frags you can test at literally every store.

>> No.17133066

>>17133040
I don't waste their time, just a few sprays of their testers that I don't even think they pay for.
And I sure as hell don't feel remorse for not giving my money to huge multinational corps like Douglas or Ici Paris (125 ml of CW is like 80 bucks at the latter lmao). The employees will get their checks regardless of me not buying there.
And it's way over just 10 bucks most of the times.
Oh and btw, they don't ever give us decants in Europe, I don't even think they do after you buy something. Even the cheapest online store I buy from does.
All they do is ask you if you need help and stand there looking at you like you are gonna grab a bottle and bolt once you politely decline.
They can go fuck themselves and adapt to the market.
Just asking, but aren't you burgers always so vocal about "costumers rights" and "muh free market"?

Dunno man, maybe I just have that romanticized idea of supporting local businesses, but you're right, most of it is already a multinational conglomerate to begin with.
Here they give out 3-4 samples with every full bottle purchase (mostly shit you don't want, but with some charisma you can easily ask for a specific one), and everytime I asked to test a fragrance they had in stock (but without tester), they procured a sample somehow. Pretty good service most of the time. Also Europe.

Based decision. Le Male is very good and a perfect allrounder. You obviously should have tested it before, but for what it is, it's a good fragrance. I'd say it's my most complimented fragrance, but that's just a matter of the time I've been wearing it, since it also was my first fragrance.

>>17133039
Technically, safe blind-buys don't exist. Prada L'Homme is a good frag, but not necessarily for everyone. If you have any similar frags, you might try a blind-buy, but if you've just picked it out as your first purchase, try and find it at a store first.

>>17133040
I absolutely do test at stores and then buy online. It's not my fault the big frag houses don't offer samples for cheap. I'd love to wear fragrances for a day or two before I decide whether or not I want a bottle, and stores are the second best thing to that. Niche houses get that right, so it can't be that hard.
There are so many frags I want to buy a sample of because I can't find them at a store just to test them, but it's not possible.

Congratulations anon you have done extremely well with your frag buys so far. Better than 90% of peoples first couple frags.
Some things to keep in mind, a 100ml bottle is like one thousand sprays. Sometimes a bit less with those real cannon sprayers. So think about how long it would take you to finish what you have. Basically at this point you should be thinking about what purpose each frag fills and making sure to not buy duplicates that cover the same use case. I would suggest slowing down and making a couple $30-$40 sample orders. You have some of the better modern designer frags on the market so you should think about trying to explore some of the smaller more indy and niche brands, and sample a lot to try and get a feel for how your tastes are developing before you buy more bottles.
