Nothing wrong with it as long as you aren't a movement autist. If you are, the reduced is the only speedmaster to use an automatic ETA based movement. How close the modern Speedmaster Pros are to the actual NASA watch has long been a topic of contention but many people in that extremely autistic community think the Speedy reduced is too far removed from the original while still aping the aesthetics.

>How close the modern Speedmaster Pros are to the actual NASA watch

Well, the 861/1861/1863 (which are all the same movement with different finishing) has a longer service record with NASA than the 321, but I don't think any of that caliber went to the moon. The difference between the 321 and it's replacement is that they replaced the column wheel with a Cam system that broke less often and was easier to produce. The movements are otherwise identical.

The 3861, is the same as the 1861 except that it has a co-axial escapement and is now Metas certified.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them since they are all within 10% the same movement. The 321 is for rich guys and purists, the 861 is for people who want a speedy pro that is less delicate and less expensive, and the 3861 is for people who are movement nerds that want the latest tech.

You do realize that no human can go as deep as 6000m deep, right? Current world record (with equipment) is barely 300m. If you want to go deeper you basically need a submersible.
This watch isn't impressive nor innovative when you understand how water resistance tests are made. They basically put the case under a lot of pressure and check when they collapse. Making a crazy thick watch isnt that hard.
What is truly impressive is building a case that can take a lot of pressure and remain relatively thin.
The Rolex Deepsea is 17,7mm and can take 390 ATM. The Omega Ploprof is 17mm but can only take 120 ATM.

Below 1000 I always recommend something like an Apple Watch. There's simply nothing worth it at that level. An Apple Watch, particularly with a nice strap, like the Hermes straps they sell, will be below 1000 but could easily be something that a millionaire would also wear.

Truly nice watches are rare below that 5000 threshold.

honestly if money was not an issue i'd be rooting for the kurono, but if you have second thoughts, it doesn't hurt to start with something humble

even if you become a cool collector like that lawyer, you'll still eventually buy a seiko 5 down the line, so why not start with it

if you like kurono maybe you'd like vintage seiko chronos, very different but japanese mood ?

I sort of agree, but modern smartwatches are so advanced that they are invaluable in specific applications. Whereas you used to just wear a G-Shock when working out, now you can wear a Garmin that tracks your heart rate, recovery, perceived effort, gives you training suggestions, maps, and about a million other things. I’m currently training for a marathon and it’s hard to overstate how useful a smartwatch actually is if you’re training for a certain goal.

I just can't picture myself with a smartwatch on my wrist. When I see someone with an Apple watch I think to myself "ugh, this guy probably watches Netflix and has a Twitter account". There's something repulsive about being a tech enthusiast to me, because it's the epitome of modernity and I hate what modernity produces.
Watches are jewelry. Their purpose is to be aesthically pleasing and interesting. They're old tech from an era that was far more charming.

Nice digits, word of advice: don't. Instant buyers remorse, rest assured. Unless of course you get it and completely disconnect from society and the watch community and then go live under a rock and even then, maybe you'll learn to kinda like it. Do not get a tag as your first. Either: A. Save for a rolex (best option) B. Get a "copewatch" i.e. Omega (Still just as valid as option A) or C. Go basedmode and get a classic Soiko/Casio. Bonus option, let society suck your fat cock and get the tackiest fucking invicta you can find and ACTUALLY use it as your daily. Trust me it'll probably give you more presence/personality than any of the other options at the end of the day. I have the balls to wear one of those monstrosities, just not the wrist size, kek.
