Like, light and fruity, sweet, but not cloyingly sweet. Also the two minis I got are Hermes d'Orange Vert Concentre & Eau de Citron Noir. Really excited to try them both out.

I personally don't get the Kenzo EDP hype. I got samples and while it does smell good, it's not something I'd call amazing or particularly interesting even for a designer scent.
I feel like it's going for a kind of night marine vibe, but Profumo does it better by virtue of having a much more pronounced aquatic note. Kenzo smells too clean and not even particularly aquatic to my nose.

just made a quick trip by the local sephora to try whatever I felt like. some notes:
>H24
I've warmed up a lot to this one. nice and unique sweet fruity floral with green and metallic notes to keep it from being too sugary. smells synthetic in an interesting way with an "airy" feeling. feels much more original than all the sauvages, bleus and light blues it's going up against but still very easy to wear
>Kenzo Homme EDP
a darker marine scent with woody and patchouli elements. pleasant enough, but doesn't excite me, feels very reserved. I'm not all that into aquatics and it looks like quentin bish's take on the genre isn't going to change that

I totally respect Quentin Bitch for Bois Imperial, Ganymede, and probably Kenzo edp 2022, i also love Akigalawood.
But let's face it most of his creations are a hit or miss.
Especially Encelade, got the chance to test it.
How does it smell?
Imagine a kids fruit candy, but in sour flavor and really sweet, with a little woods and vetiver, but mostly sweet, sour, fruity rubharb.
Also don't forget he created Le Male Parfum, One Million Parfum, Soul of the forest, all pretty forgotable.

it's kind of abstract and hard to describe, but basically it's an airy, transparent green herbal frag with some fruity-floral sweetness (the narcissus note I think?) and metallic, mineral elements that are supposed to smell a bit like steam from a steaming iron
something about it reminds me of hay too, maybe a dried up meadow with flowers in the sweltering summer heat? or rather a futuristic, synthetic recreation of that scent

needless to say, it's pretty unique and there's not much else like it on the market, but it still fits into the post-Ellena Hermes catalogue of transparent, minimalist nature-inspired frags. and it's mild and pleasant enough to be a good work frag and generally not put anyone off

SWY Absolutely is cotton candy and candied almonds. It's so sweet and so much vanilla that it's almost disgusting, but just almost. Sadly, it is very well received by women (at least 2, but hey, that's more than 0), so the bottle gets to stay. I'm also not the person to call something "cloying", but it smells like spraying syrup onto yourself and is probably the densest sweet stuff I've ever smelled.
The internet is currently discussing whether or not L'Oreal has already begun diluting the SWY line, starting with the OG, so be aware of that.

Okay quick rundown, you apply just a small amount, swipe the dipstick on the back of your wrist then swipe it up with your finger and dab it on your chest neck maybe shoulders. It takes 10-15 minutes to warm up and start projecting so don't over apply.
The smell of out oil varies dramatically, green sour notes, deep woody notes, incense notes, dried fruits sometimes green herbs. So look for an oud oil that sounds like the aroma profile is something you would like. The longer the ould wood is fermented before distillation the stronger the sharp animalic barnyard notes are, with indian ouds typically being the most heavily fermented, so i wouldn't jump right in with those. 1ml is enough for a surprising number of wears. The more expensive oud oils typically offer more rare or exotic scent profiles.
It's freat stuff, complex enough to wear on its own, some of them open a bit harshly but then calm down into these beautiful mystical incense smells.
Typically you will experience something entirely different from most oud perfumes.
That shop has a decent reputation on the oud addicts forum and better prices than most. They also have a huge selection of the oud wood chips for burning on charcoal which is one of the must luxurious incenses in the world.

So i bought a bottle of cabochard edt (2019 version) and said i would post about it.
The bro that said it wasn't very unisex at all was right. All the reviews talked about moss and tobacco and leather, which is all there intiny quantities under a massive dose of aldehydes and mostly ylang ylang.
I guess a guy could wear it but it's not for me at all, i hate yellow florals. The wafts from the loft guys were raving about it and said its this amazing chypre and it would be worth it even at $100. But then only talked about the moss and leather and said some shit like their was a tiny hint of florals when this thing is 90% ylang ylang.
Anyway i learned my lesson, no more blind buying womens perfumes, also the wafts from the loft guys are a bit less accurate than they act like they are.
My wife was even a good sport and wore it for a day, i hated it on her too. If the ylang ylang was dialwd back by 50% and everything else was dialed up this would be a winner but as is it sucks.
Anyways good performance, great fragrance if you are looking for a gift for your elderly grandma.

No, but frags can change a bit smell wise or "macerate" as its called in the fragrance community, especially once it has been sprayed down some and some air gets in the bottle. So you didnt ruin thre fragrance it, it might smell slightly different or a little bit stronger that it did before but that would have happened over the next six months anyway if you just wore it a few times and kept it on the shelf. I'm really happy with Voyage d'Hermes EDP, the longevity is quite good, the projection is intimate but it's not a skin scent (which is exactly what I want), and the scent itself is excellent, fit for every season or occasion yet not generic. I get a slight hint of Terre somewhere in there during the first hour, but it definitely develops into its own thing with the cardamom. Signature worthy imo.

>> No.17127320

>>17127293
yeah, it's pretty great. Hermes is kind of underrated in general, everyone only talks about Terre when Voyage, H24, and the Jardin and Eau series are also great, not to mention good old Bel Ami. definitely up there with Dior and Chanel, far above most of the other designer houses

>> No.17127332

>>17127320
The issue with the Jardin and Eau series is that for the most part they're really lacking in longevity. There are some amazing scents in there but I don't see the point of buying a bottle of something that becomes a skin scent after half an hour and completely disappears three hours later.
It's too bad, Jardin sur le Nil is really good.

All of these seem to contain a molecule my nose overreacts to, which then reminds me of cheap incense sticks my mom burned when I was a kid. It overpowers everything else, so that I'm unable to smell anything else. A fucking shame really, I wish I could avoid sampling those frags beforehand, but I don't know how. The only note they all seem to share, according to fragrantica, is labdanum, so maybe it's one of the synthetics trying to recreate that.

what's the most balsamic, sacred and austere incense fragrance you can think of?
I'm on a mission to find the perfect incense frag and your input is very welcome
>what I tried before, adding stuff from last time
Incense City by AllSaints, hardly any incense, too powdery and vanilla-y
Incense by Franck Boclet, not enough incense, too much contour
CDG2 MAN, not enough incense
Bois d'Encens by Armani, too sweet and pricey
Rien Intense Incense by ELDO, too much diesel oil
Ikon by Zirh, too sweet, bit too much contour
This is Him! by Zadig & Voltaire, not enough incense, not very balsamic, lots of vanilla and other assorted spice
Eau Trois by Dyptique, good for the first 20 minutes, then it becomes more and more soapy and the performance is terrible on my skin
Vetiver by Le Labo, nicely balsamic and fresh, but too much vetiver
Full Incense by Montale, not very realistic, metallic
Fille en Aiguilles by Serge Lutens, not much incense all in all, much too sweet
Incense Extreme by Tauer, too dry and woody, almost leathery
Tiger's Nest by MEMO, good, if a bit too plain, and more expensive than what I'd like
L'Eau d'Issey pour Encens, too much of the overdone shower gel base
and surely some other stuff that I can't remember
also I'd rather stay away from discounted frags because of the availability and leavening prices
and I've ordered a sample of Avignon by CDG
