Which fucking perfumer is it, what's the fragrance? Note pyramids don't mean shit, they aren't ingredients lists they are autosuggestion to get you to smell specific things out of a blend of different aroma chemicicals.

Only available for a few people since he doesn't make many bottles, I am not keeping any secret, I get the frag through a friend and I don't know the guy.
>what's the fragrance?
there is no name for it, he gives you some of the notes and that's all. I have a 50ml bottle from this guy that I used the last two winters:
It's a blend smelling like a mix of tonka bean, honey, cinnamon, some kind of wood and ginger and, as simple as it sounds, it's the best smelling and performer fragrance I own.
Anyways, I just made the call. It's summer and I want to smell that so bad. Wish me luck.

"Pure Black" by Mandarina Duck is really good. It has a nice and dark sandalwood and vanilla and tonka bean. And it is really cheap. It is from 2009 though. And the sillage isnt fantastic.

You get an arms length for an hour on 1-2 sprays and then it is a skin scent for the rest of the time. So I would spray this a bit liberally Maybe even on clothes. But it is very masculine and very nice smelling. But it is less than $30 and it is worth it.

Another recommendation is "Kouros" by Yves Saint Laurent. It is from the 80s, it is slightly above your budget, and it is a controversial one. I remember it used to be very popular in the 80s and 90s. Some people think that the musk is too animalic and "urine" like. I have never smelled that, there are others like Khiel's Musk where I can smell a urine note, but I don't smell it on Kouros. I love Kouros, but read up on it. It might be worth it, it is very animalic and sexy tho

I have no idea what the ultra blue smells like. The black one is the standard. The sillage is not a lot, which makes it a good office smell. People will smell it if they are near you, but not on the other side of the office. But it is one of those where it doesn't hurt to "top up" the smell a bit during the day if you think it is weakened. It might not last 8 hours at the office.

But it smells very nice, you can't go wrong in an office with it.

Just feel it out. But I am probably not the only one here who has sprayed too much of some perfume and spent all day worrying. So don't overdo it.

But one thing, when people shake hands it is a natural reflex that people later smell the hand they shook with (people do this without thinking) and even though it doesn't last very long inside the hand, I like to perfume my hands, It might be a good thing to do, I don't know, but I have done this since I learned people have this reflex.

Pic related took me by surprise when I received a free sample with my purchase, as neither Kenzo nor Quentin Bish were really on my radar. Performance is amazing on my skin, the scent itself might be related to the other stuff Bish put out recently, no idea, but it's very hard to describe. Not a typical aquatic by any means, even though it might look like that. Can recommend sampling this if you get the chance, it might be hit or miss for some people, but it's really special compared to other recent designer stuff.

How can that even be good business? Some fragnance is popular and then they make it worse and cheaper to capitalise on it.

It is like having a goose that lays golden eggs and then kill it to get at the gold. I guess some niche house can make a good quality profumo-like and get good business, maybe. Unless the unwashed masses just fall for the cheaper ingredients

This isn't a useful question. For some people price doesn't matter and blind buy $400 fragrances on a lark. Other people compare it to others that they view as similar quality price wise while some think a high price is a deal breaker and don't think anything is worth $100 or more per 50 ml.
