I recently finished my medicine degree and am officially a doctor, so my dad has told me to pick any watch within reason to get it engraved and as a gift.

I like odd looking watches, so I want something special and unique as well, but that is had a good mechanism and that will last forever. I own a festina and lotus watch since forever, and I really like both , but they're both within the "classic" category , as in they are what a picture of a watch in a dictionary would look like.

I saw this zeppelin watch, and I quite like the look and metal strap, but I'm not sure how good the machinery is, the price is around 300€ (pic), I also saw a fossil one that was interesting, but again, no idea about the quality of the machine. Budget is 1000€ , and I don't mind wether it's quartz or automatic. Any anons have good recommendations?

This other one I saw also looks interesting and I think it has good machinery, but it doesn't quite convince me either. (Price is not euros, but it's roughly 600€)

Bump? Sorry for being a fat, but I just want good recommendations

Look through the catalogs of the well known watch brands like Seiko or Hamilton, both of them offer great watches for under 1000 Euro, good finishing and movements for the price, just get the model you like. Or save up some more money and get a better watch. I mean you graduate only once and as a doctor you are likely to earn good money in the near future, so maybe you wont be interested in that cheap graduation shitter later in your career.

I own a Zeppelin. They're fashion watches. They look cool but the movements are nothing special and they're a little overpriced. The lum on mine is really weak. If you really want one, pay the extra cash for an automatic movement, the quartz ones are really not worth it.

You might also want to look into a Dan Henry watch. They have a similar old fashioned pilot's chronograph, and even though it's a quartz I think it's higher quality than Zeppelin.

oh, and I almost forgot. The back of the case of Zeppelin watches have an engraved QR code that looks fucking awful.

Anon the best advice I can give you is that you should save the money and eventually get a rolex or better.

There is a dedicated thread here >>17118166 with guides, charts and assholes like me 24/7.

Gratz on your degree btw.

for more unusual watches look at sinn. Sub 1k you can get the sinn 556.

For 1.2k Sinn 104 is also nice.

Thanks for all the recommendations guys, also in terms of what
>>17118697 >>17118780 said, that is why I want a reliable mechanism, because even if it's not something from a a brand like rolex (which I personally don't like that much), it will be something I will be wearing every day and reminding me of my dad and my family.

Also, >>17118765 thank you for the info about zeppelin, it's a shame they aren't that good but I'll take a look at the Dan Henry ones as well.

Look at Seiko's Prospex line - they have a lot of quirky sports watches, and most models are within your budget.
