The Worst General On 4chan Edition

This thread is about the appreciation of shitposting, complaining, trolling and some discussion of watches and their design, their history, and the engineering and materials that are required to make a functioning timepiece.
There is nothing here worthy of appreciation.

Because of the high demand and the ongoing shortage the Rolexes you see in display cases at ADs are strictly for display purposes. To buy one, you tell the AD that you would like to purchase one.
Let them know which model and color combinations you'd like and they will call you when one comes in.

For a high-production model like a Datejust, the wait time should only be a few weeks. Three months at most. If you want a popular, low-production model like a GMT-Master II or a Daytona, the wait can stretch out to years.

Tritium's midlife means that the chance of getting cancer from the watch is lower than that of having a couple of x-rays. Just don't lick the hands/dial or place them inside your body and you'll be ok.

Anyone else got experience with these models, or others in the khaki aviation line? My only concern is it's maybe on the larger size at 42mm case width. It's why I opted for this one rather than the GMT or chrono variations which are even bigger.

That's the thing with skeleton watches. It's not the "I can see the movement!" that makes skeletonization interesting, but the finishing. When you look at a well skeletonized watch by a top level house, you can see the artistry they put into the finishing. Not just drilling holes, but making the shapes flow with other shapes.

FWIW, the watch in >>17109888 is not a skeletonized watch, it's just an open heart watch. (you'd think he'd know that, but money can't buy brains, I guess.)

Kek. That particular watch is one of less than 5 (believed to exist), second gen Jeffersonia dial in the world, just before they stopped producing it. Dude, do you know how hard it is to lose weight once you turn 40? When I was 20, I could drop 10 pounds in a week. Now, dropping 10 pounds is a project that takes an entire year, and if you slip up and go to a barbecue or something, you're back at square one.
And I'm not even that fat. Lawyersama needs to drop at least 50 pounds. You don't think his doctor tells him like every single time he visits? His dentist probably tells him to lose weight. That doesn't happen in a year. That's a complete lifestyle change, and for what? Being skinny in a country where literally everyone around you is also fat? Wearing fashionable clothes?

Burger here. I don't know where lawyer anon lives, but in my part of the US (the Deep South) being thin is generally seen as a sign of wealth, since blacks and poor white trash don't have access to good nutrition and just live on McDonald's and Coke so they get fat.

The explosion in watch diameters coincides directly with America's (and Europe's) obesity crisis.

For a half-century, watches stayed steady at around 35mm give or take a mm or two, not counting watches like dive watches which needed to be large so people could read them underwater.

But then in the 70s, Americans started getting fatter and fatter and their watches got bigger and bigger.
A 35mm watch on a normal wrist like the runner guy would look proportional. On a fat fuck, it looks like, well, >>17110559

I can't start down the Ink rabbit hole, I know what I'm like, id have 40 bottles in a few months. I have other pens (lamys and such) but the 146, 149 and eco are my daily pens i keep inked, I just want piston pens from now on, stops me buying to many pens. I said to myself 1 bottle for ever inked pen. I might pick up a diamond 580 to replace the eco.

Saying that their magnetic blue is very nice! What pens do you use?

my favourite is probably the LED Omega, and somehow I'd probably never wear it. Second favourite is the Accutron spaceview. What frequency? High pitch?
