I just really don't like the way they look personally. The rear section is especially not my taste -- dropping the fender and putting on the exact same blunt, brown-upholstered seat style makes any bike look like dogshit.

On a more judgemental level it seems that two-thirds of the nicely-preserved 70s bikes around me have been cut up and turned into cafe racer specials people try to sell for $5k. So many CB350s that could have had a beautiful life turned into those.

Second off, if the faggy techwear poncho is made out of cordura or hell, just moderately dense standard nylon, it's already punching above average in terms of specialized textile motorcycle apparel. If you take the time to actually look at what most low-to-mid-market options people are wearing on the street are made of, you'd lose your shit. So so so many of them are 10oz cotton or unbacked polyester -- aka basically nothing on asphalt -- and relying entirely on armor pads to provide some modicum of slide protection. That's leaving out the fact that the shittiest leather chaps or w/e mogs anything textile -- yes, even ""fashion leather""

Copped this gigantic Cordura horse-riding coat, gonna make my motorbike-overcoat dream a reality. It's got straps inside to keep the coat against me so it might not even get caught in the chain.

Unironically etsy. It's surprisingly good for finding specialized clothing for cheap. I took a risk on it, since a lot of the time the high-strength textile is only put on high-impact parts of the garment, but now that I have it it seems the entire thing is made out of (probably 500 denier) cordura. It's pretty warm so I'll have to wait until the fall to give it a proper try but I'm happy.

Depending on where you live you can see some pretty interesting fits on delivery couriers during the winter. It's pretty amazing to see these people build up actually functional fits out of whatever they have around. They lean more functional than aesthetic, but sometimes I see some good fits.
