This would be the safe choice I guess. Jubilee and flutted bezel because IMO that's the only DJ you should get. I also love it because it looks expensive as fuck. The only thing that's holding me back is the cyclop. If they made the OP with flutted bezel and jubilee, I'd get it in a heartbeat.

If I had to choose right now, I'd get the two tone Explorer. I love the model and the history behind it. And because I want a "fuck you watch" the two tone version is ideal for me. I also absolutely love the Jubille bracelet but it won't work on an Explorer, but I think the touch of gold makes it up for it.

For a DJ, you wait a few weeks unless you want a really uncommon color combination.
For Explorers, the wait appears to be 3 months or less, according to the experiences of guys on the forums.
This is all for people with no purchase history.

If you have history, then wait time goes way down. For example, I got my Batgirl in a little less than a year but I'd spent quite a bit at that AD in the past.

Even if you're not a diver, the diver bezel can be pretty handy as a quick, coarse timer for things. I've used it to time out doing sections of exams.
People also like how a good one can have a little bulk and feel a little masculine without going over the top but that depends on what you like and how it wears on your wrist, of course. And more broadly, they initially became popular for the implication that you were going to do something cool with them. Fucking awful. They dropped the ball by making it way too big and offering it in (imo) shit colourways. It's ridiculously thick. If they did a 37 - 38mm version with a quartz movement it would be really nice, though. Not sure the exact ref for the watch, but it's a 1955 Omega with a caliber 266 movement inside which ran me a bit over $700 I fell in love with the patina and it happened to be compatible with the seconds hand I was looking at which i got from SecondeSeconde and with currency conversion and international shipping came out to a bit over $500. I had a local watch shop do a once over on the movement and put the new hand on, lets say $75 for labor. The strap was done by a local leather worker that specializes in bespoke watch straps. He does great work and I gave him an even $200. Realistically you could get a watch with much better specs or brand appeal for the price, but I really enjoyed the process of sourcing exactly what I wanted and ending up with something totally unique :)
