Really recommend this if you can get it for $30 or so as an alternative to a GShock. Good step counter and has heart rate, world time, backlight. Battery lasts over a month depending how many activity sessions you do (done via the app). And charging is fast.

If it's done well, it's really impossible to tell, but dead giveaways are if there's corrosion on the hands but none on the dial, if it comes in a color that was never sold by the factory (India is famous for these) or if the case and the dial are from different eras.

The good news is that if it was a one-to-one swap as part of a full restoration, then the seller will often disclose that, since they will likely be charging a ton, since good restoration work is definitely not cheap.

I don't blame you for not knowing this, but both LV and RL have mind-boggling HH offerings. In fact LV has made multiple Geneva seal watches over the years. I think this is pretty bizarre since they churn out entry level ETA dogshit as well, but it's because they have two master watchmakers on board who they just give carte blanche to do whatever they want in extremely limited quantities while they catch plebs with the entry level shitters. Pretty based actually.

RL is a bit of a different story but still brings out the rare highly complicated and desirable watch as long as you can get over the name on the dial.

There are a surprising number of levels of sub-cope within Patek.

If you own a non-complication one, that's just a cope for a complication, which is a cope of a grand complication, which is a cope for vintage pieces, which are cope for unique pieces, and so forth, but a non-complication rare vintage might not be a cope for a modern grand complication, etc. Different complications are cope for each other, like perpetual calendars or minute repeaters. It just goes on and on.

LV doesn't want to be that brand. I can guarantee you that watches make up less than 10% of their annual revenue. LVMH owns Bulgari, Zenith, Hublot, and Tag Heuer. LV churns out HH pieces with geneva seals because they have more money than god and because they can.

Just for reference and because it's interesting, revenue figures for 2021
>Patek 1.5b CHF
>AP 1.6b
>Omega 2.2b
>Cartier 2.4b
>Rolex 8.1b

Patek, AP, and Rolex are all independent. What did LVMH make in 2021? 64 BILLION euros in revenue. Now they own a lot of brands so that number is misleading, but 30 billion euros is solely from fashion. Dior, Chanel, and LV are the big earners. Even a conservative estimate would mean that LV is making more than Patek, AP, Omega, and Cartier put together. You really think they couldn't put out some good watches if they wanted to? LVMH could literally afford to buy every watch brand that exists.

Not what I was expecting, but very impressive. Though if a watch company were to use a round synthetic diamond instead of a cut natural diamond the price should only be 2 to 4 times the price of sapphire according to Rayotek sight windows' technical info page. Assuming production of such crystals isn't too much of an issue it could easily be had in some high end luxury watch brand's top of the line model.

I don't think you should include cartier in this chart because probably the majority of their revenue is jewelry, not watches.
