Unfortunately that's hardlex which is very difficult to polish, especially for an amateur. If that's a 6319-8070 then the crystal you need is 320W28GN00 which is discontinued and a quick look on eBay shows that the only available NOS are extremely limited and around $40 which is the going rate for NOS Seiko crystals, it's either a cost you'll have to bear or you'll have to grow to love a scratched crystal.

What kind of a "coating" is there on the Seiko from Blubasaur's video? I've seen someone mention that there's a coating that gets scratched and can't be polished in the Youtube comments but I closed the window and I'm too lazy to open it again or watch the video so someone here has to know.

What do we think about Kickstarter watches in general? Trustworthy? How many completely flop/never get sent.

More specifically, what's the consensus with these Trafford Meca-Quartz chronos? While $300 isn't lifechanging money, I'd rather not throw it away. Any chance these'll ever actually get sent? The story is gay but hey the watch looks cool. Those lugs aren't for everyone but I happen to like them,

>The two mechanical self-winding movements "Cal.0950 (installed in models" 870 "and" 830 ")" and "Cal.9051 (installed in model" 831 ") adopted this time in" Series Eight ") have reinforced magnetic resistance. Help!

Need to get my brother a watch for his wedding.
>Budget
1-3k
>type
Probably a diver or something “sporty” since he’s not fancy enough to ever wear a dress watch
>features
Would prefer a more recognizable brand since he isn’t exactly fashion literate so something even he would recognize as a nice gift
>size
We have small wrists and I generally don’t like large gaudy watches so ideally under 40mm

Have been looking at newer tag heuers but the only ones they have that fit the bill are ugly aqua racers and such.

Does the listing you are looking at give the reference number for the watch? Google the reference number and read about the model, the movement, what are the common issues with the movement, look for pictures of other watches online with the same reference that have the same case shape, dial, hands and movement, etc.

The general rule for vintage watches is that you should educate yourself sufficiently about the model(s) you are interested in that you can identify for yourself the condition of the watch, the originality of the watch, and whether it is priced appropriately for the condition it is in. Understand that the vintage watch market has many, many scam artists in it who make a living by taking advantage of people who don't do their research.

Oh, also, never, ever, EVER buy a vintage watch from India, China, South Korea, the Philippines, or Ukraine. Essentially 100% of them will be scams of one kind or another.
