30m water resistance means you can wash your hands with your watch on but it may not be able to stand up to a heavy rainstorm. You are crying that some people want to just not have to think about water. The timing bezel is also the most practical and intuitive complication.

Again, I haven't had issues with this with any watches I've owned with a 30m water resistance, nor have I seen anyone complain about this issue irl or online, but again, unless either of us have some empirical data on the performance of 30m water resistant rated watches in rain, it's essentially a moot point. As for the timing bezel, maybe on here, where people generally care more about watches than the average person, actually using it is common, but in my experience most people who pay more than $100 or so for a watch couldn't give a shit, they just want a watch from a brand they've heard of that they think looks expensive. Maybe we just interact with different circles of people though.

Not really lol. If you're gonna use more than the bare minimum, i.e. you subject your watch to significant water pressure, or make use of a timing bezel enough for it to be significantly helpful, then go for it. If you're not then why pay more for extra features, unless it's for the aesthetic? I don't mind a low-contrast watch. For the longest time I wore nothing but a Seiko from the 70s without any indices (It was a stupid watch, but belonged to a late relative, so it was for sentimental reasons), so I got pretty good at quickly reading the time without much other info. Is there much glint to the crystal that you know of? To be honest an all-black low-contrast watch without lume sort of intrigues me, as I do a lot of late-night hunting when legal, and being low-viz or no-viz is very helpful. Not that the lume on a watch would give away your position to a deer, but still, I wonder if there's any legitimate tactical application.

>> No.15979286

>>15979244
There is no AR coating on the watch but it does not have much glare. The lume on the hands is very weak. I would not trust it to go all night. The problem is that due to the fact that the indices are the same color as the dial you need like an extra second to tell the time, and the screen is way too small so you can't use any features. It's also a small negative display, further hindering legibility.
The all black has no contrast so it's actually the least readable one. It looks cool but it is not the best for telling time

I have the retro diver, overall it's fantastic, the quality and finishing is extremely high for the price. The bracelet is a pain to size but you only have to do it once, you will probably need a $12 aliexpress springbar pliers tool to take the metal bracelet off, the endlinks fit incredibility tight to the case.
My complaints, the rehaut is painted black for some reason, it never bothers me in person. The text on the bezel is more orangish than gold, i might fill it with white paint at somepoint. The rotating bezel was a little tight initially but it has loosened up a little a feels great.
Overall im super happy with it for the money. Grab a $10 aliexpress fluorine rubber tropic strap to go with it and its a super nice watch. Fits well even on my six inch wrist.

Your beater can do daily or sporty perhaps, but if you actually do shit where it's going to get gross and banged up? No way. Especially if it's not even super comfortable for those activities.

The matte black dial and smaller case size is significantly better and more in line with the overall nomos aesthetic. You would be switching out one of the most Nomos looking watches for something slightly more generic. If you really want something different swap it out for the Ahoi Neomatik Atlantic on the factory bracelet, the dial color is 100% better.

The granite dial is a bit dull and I'm starting to get feild watch vibes off it, mixed messages. The 38mm case is most likely better than the 39mm. I think the midnight blue dial and rose gold hands will have a richness / lusta I'm looking for that my club is lacking. The only ahoi I like is the doctors one with red 12 and the but rarely see them used and the braclet is nice but has now micro adjustable clasp.

It was a scheme where she was just the point man and so many rules were violated it's not even funny. >The gay waitlisting and precious metal Cellini stuff which is not a meme

I really don’t get it. If your Rolex is precious metal, which is basically the only way it’ll be really expensive now unless it’s a Daytona, why would you cover it in diamonds to hide that fact? Why wouldn’t you just wear a diamond bracelet or something if the goal is to show how much money you have? Why do they have to be glued onto a Rolex?

Is the seiko spb the best looking classical designed tool diver? I genuinely think it is on par with the submariner in terms of looks.

I'm not a seiko fanboy however and the idea of dropping £1000 and risk seiko misalignment and shitty qc puts me off.

I'm a sucker for an steel bezel as well. I know its "inferior" to sapphire but on a brushed tool diver a matte metal bezel is where it's at.

Please convince me I'm wrong /wt/. I have tried to convince myself i like the san martin for 1/5 of the price but i keep coming back to soiko.

How do you define a "classical design" tool diver?
If you mean classically styled, I'm sure there are some microbrand divers in the same or lower price-range that would at least be worth considering. Otherwise just buy the Seiko in person where you can verify alignment before purchase.

The Seiko Tuna design was launched in 1975 which technically also makes it a classic at this point and it's probably the best analogue tool diver on the market, period, but this probably wasn't what you had in mind.

>t. has probably never owned a house
I've made money on every single property I've bought, most in relatively short order. Investment commercial properties aside, housing is one of the most surefire methods to make good ROI. The market can be relatively volatile, just like any other market, but if you have an ounce of intelligence it's easy to work with. I bought my current house early 2019 for $400,000. It would sell right now at $475,000 and potentially more. Please tell me more about how renting is the better alternative. That's aside from the obvious benefits of owning your own place.
>muh repairs
Unless you buy an absolute shit house, repair costs are typically minimal, which you would know if you ever owned one.
