focus on cleaning your scalp, not you hair when you shampoo. use your fingers to massage ur actual skull rather than hair, if ur hair's too dry it'll get oilier. also buy some dry shampoo. its like an aerosol that absorbs excess oil in ur hair and makes it voluminous.

Youre washing too much man. Wash it once a week maximum. Your hair produces natural oils (grease) in order to hydrate your hair. Shampoo strips your hair of these oils and your scalp overcompensates by producing more oil than is needed. Stop using shampoo for a couple weeks and you'll notice the greasiness just goes away.

Genetically I got worst of both worlds where my roots get greasy and the length is frizzy (thanks mom) so I can’t wash too much...

I tried for years to make my scalp less oily. I've tried just about every trick people talk about and it never made a difference. From "new age" shampoo alternatives to nopoo to using only soft water to only distilled water to completely changing my diet etc. etc. Was walking around with really oily hair for most of those years.
None of it changed my oily scalp. Some people genetically just produce more sebum naturally and nothing can really change that.

I just gave up and have gone back to shampooing my hair daily. My hair and scalp have never been healthier looking. So don't think you have to do something just because people on the internet think you should.
