Luxo-barbershop fougere. I'm not sure I actually like this anymore. It's quite heavy.
I think I'd actually be happier if it was a little lighter and performed worse.

My bottle is older, I hear they reformulated it and the performance is worse now. Might be worth checking out.

>The exceptional Aventus was inspired by the dramatic life of a historic emperor, celebrating strength, power and success. Introduced in 2010 and crafted by the deft hand of Sixth Generation Master Perfumer Olivier Creed in collaboration with his son Erwin, this scent has grown to become the best-selling fragrance in the history of the brand. Olivier created its iconic name derived from a ("from") ventus ("the wind"), illustrating the Aventus man as destined to live a driven life, ever galloping with the wind at his back toward success. Aventus is a sophisticated blend for individuals who savor a life well-lived.

in 5 months you'll laugh at your noob assessments lol. it's fine, everybody starts somewhere. eau fraiche and the one are not in the same category, only thing in common is the woody base and the fruity/citrus very opening but you'll find out that's the case for 90% of fragrances. eau fraiche is a light citrus floral aquatic, the one is a warm spicy, tobacco. the one is generally considered one of the best smelling designer fragrances. i agree, it's a masterpiece. no other fragrance smells quite like it. you'll probably enjoy it later

I thin they're good if read properly. The point of the flowchart is to start with the initial circle of 10 fragrances >>15943305 these are all great and completely different classics and you should be able to smell some of them even in Boots or some John Lewis. Kiehl's and L'Occitane have shops in every slightly bigger city, too (if not order samples from eBay). Neglect all other frags on this chart. For what it's worth it's a lot less likely you'll find someone else wearing the parfum version than say the edt. I'd just go ahead and buy the ones you like and not worry too much about whether it's complex and niche.

I've always got this idea in my head that new designer fragrances are meant to smell nice on a tester strip. Maybe not 100%, but like that's part of their marketing.

Sauvage, for example, smells great on a tester strip, but smells like metal shit on shit. Older fragrances like Mitsouko or Fahrenheit, from the 1920's though the 1990;s, smells pretty bad on a tester, but evolves so nicely on skin.

there has to be some minimum, i dont really feel like bringing a decant everywhere I go. I have regretted purchasing because of that reason, and its part of the bottle worthiness judging i do. And please dont make this into some everything is beast mode thing either, it forces me to me judge your intelligence. It's really a stupid question because you set no minimum performance level, so a $1700 for a scent that lasts 30 minutes seems reasonable to you is the way it reads.

Thanks. EdP is lower concentration but the thing that made me buy these instead of extraits is that they have atomizers. I really hat dabbing and will most likely move my 100ml bottle of Trumpers Sandalwood for this reason (and rebuy a 50ml with atomizer).
>b683
Coincidentally it's also my SOTD. I was really excited about it during the first 1-2ml of my decant now it's just ok. The fact that my gf ruined it for me telling me that both Ganymede and B683 smells like dentists' office also has something to do with it. I can't escape this association now. I don't think it's ambroxan though. I smelled the same ingredient in JF Schwarzlose Altruist.

More progress to report. I’ve now also tried Creed Aventus and Dior Sauvage. Aventus is pretty great. It’s like Axe Body Spray that’s reached it’s maximum potential. It’s 100x more expensive than Axe though and I’m not certain it’s 100x better. Sauvage smells like fabric softener and I really like it, I could wear this every day.

Not him but overall from my experience it's easy to tell if the seller is legit. Always remember that as buyers you're kings on eBay. You can always open a case against the seller if anything about the sample seem off and not only he'll return in 100% cases your money, he'll also pay for sending products back. Some faggots are even scamming good sellers this way. Buying frags, taking decants and returning saying that the level is not as in photos. Been there and it was done to me. Couldn't do a shit about it as I didn't have a continuous video where I pack a bottle and take it to post. You're safe dw

Check how old the account is and the total number rating. If its 1000+, at least a couple years old and not from a sketch country like Russia it should be fine. I use ebay all the time but use your senses, if the deal is too good there's a reason.

Here's an example though of a cunt who you can't trust rating + feedback for. This fucking faggot really pisses me off because he throws off my typical judgement call bar the stupidly low price. I can give you an insight into eBay: if you have a paid business account you can retract all negative comments as long you refund the buyer. That's how shitload of shady businesses operate there. They simply cast their nets wide and if someone figures out that they're selling counterfeit things, they take this money on themselves, return and retract the comment.

I have Etruscan Water (As I'm sure I've said to you before) and adore it, and I still want to buy one more of hers, but I worry about getting fucked by customs charges to the UK now. I'm torn between Black Knight and Dark Side. Or Sticky Fingers. That consistent DNA makes it hard to choose because I adore it, but it's more about which "wrapper" I want around it.

I'm the person that mentioned Grey Vetiver above. I ended up putting on Diptyque's Eau Capitale. Subtly sweet, light, and pleasant.

Not quite, sunscreen smells creamy, at least the ones sold in europe. Also sunscreen smell is not a bad smell itslef but we associate it with burnt skin. Don't knw if it's true but i believe there are master perfumers workig for the scent of sunscreens, after shave, handcream etc. It has to be. These are big money companies. If jeremy can hire morillas be sure loreal, nivea etc can hire whoever they want. I think ellena breifly mentioned he worked for the formula of a popular cream,.nivea iirc. My point is that smells of cosmetics is not random trash done by some rookie but i agree, no matter how good the scent is, of it's used for mass produced cosemetics it looses any meaning and will be associated with said product. My girlfriend and I are currently both looking for new fragrances. While I’ve been an enthusiast for some time she isn’t too well read on houses or notes.

We thought it would be nice to each buy something from the same house and were looking at Margiela, of which she tried Bubble Bath and Under the Lemon Tree. Unfortunately none of their other offerings particularly caught her attention whereas I leaned rather heavily toward Whispers in the Library.

Now, while the above mentioned might not be for us after all, I wanted to ask if anyone here has any experience of buying fragrance with their SO. For aesthetic reasons we’d like to buy from the same house/line but it’s not a must and while I lean more toward woody and fresh spicy she decisively defines her tastes as fresh and not very sweet.

Been saying it for long time. Nishane is a product of a Turkish cheap Arab oil clone company called "MG Gülçiçek". They were smart to spot a niche in the market in the right time and did this pseud-exclusive spinoff that we know as Nishane. I am pretty sure that stuff like Safran et Suede, Hacivat and some other are just a bit tweaked-up versions of their oil clones of Tuscan Leather, Aventus etc that are otherwise sold on Turkish bazaars to clueless tourists.

That's a well known fact that men love Aventus and think that women must love it too for that reason. However, the truth is that they're not as enthusiastic as men about it. I showed it to 5 or so of my ex-gfs and their reactions varied from 'ewwww wash it off your wrist' to 'meh, smells like pineapple juice'. Literally gay pheromones. That being said one should wear whatever he not others likes.

SOTD is Haxan by Prissana.

This one is very interesting, I’m surprised how much I like the goat hair musk, probably my favorite part of it. There is a lot going on but it’s a lot fresher and more aquatic than I was expecting. I thought it would be dark and brooding, but it’s bright and relaxed.

I picture it like paddling a canoe around a spring pond, sipping chamomile tea while your dog dries off from taking a swim. Definitely worth a sample and makes me really want to try Aran now.
