Got a 50ml of Bleu de Chanel parfum for my birthday recently and while I'm not too fond of the edp and less so the edt, I gotta say I'm really loving the parfum version. Opens similar to the edp but after about a half an hour it's a delicious dark sandalwood that is smooth as butter. Longevity is great and holds a nice bubble, without being cloying, and is just an all around great designer bordering on niche. Props to my aunt, and I will more than definitely be buying a 100ml when I clear this one out. Just thought I should put this out since I'm pleasantly surprised.

It's one of my favorites. I actually hated it when I first tried it on paper at Bloom. I thought it was gross, smoky and rotten, and quickly moved on to try the other scents in the line. But, over the course of the day I kept coming back to sniff the tester strip. There was something heady and addicting that I kept coming back for. The florals are rich and unlike anything else I've tried. To me different bits come out with each wearing, and I find the same to be true for a lot of Gardoni's scents. It does for sure have crazy performance / longevity, one spray is all I need, and it will stick to my clothes until I wash them.

>> No.15925985

>>15925943
Zoologist didn’t reformulated it. They wanted to buy the formula from her so they could produce it more easily (previously, they had to get her to make it for them and send it, which was causing delays in production because she’s only a part-time perfumer and is also a professor which makes her very busy). She refused to sell. Thus, they had to reformulated Bat and she opted to sell the old Bat formula as Night Flyer on her own site.

Hard to say. We don’t really know what went on behind the scenes. Going by what I’ve pieced together, it seems like Victor was being more reasonable. If you’re an old skool Zootopian fan, you remember that old Bat was constantly sold out. This is because they were having production issues due to Covey pretty much just delivering batches whenever she got around to it. If you’re a business, that can’t be happening, so Victor really did need a way to be able to produce the stuff himself. Now, did he make her a reasonable offer or try to lowball her? We just don’t know. If he was negotiating in good faith and she just wouldn’t accept a reasonable offer, then it’s on her. If Victor offended her by trying to lowball the fuck out of her, then it’s his fault.

Some (Both leathers, Oud Wood, Beau du Jour, Fougere d’Argent, Neroli Portofino) smell fantastic to me, but they’re all quite on the nose. One dimensional, great smelling concoctions with nothing interesting happening.
I’m okay with spending a couple hundred on a bottle every now and then, but the fact TF charges more than most any niche house (MDCI asks for less than Toms asking for some private blends per ml) is taking aspirational pricing to the next level and I feel like a simp for paying it

As for the bottle, the Versace is actually pretty slick too

I promised I'd give my first impressions on Kosciuszko by Blocki Perfumes, so here they are. It's surprisingly light to me, but not in a bad way. By light I guess I pretty much mean that I expected it to be sweeter. Definitely not a summer perfume but I could see it in spring. When I first sprayed it on I was hit with what smelled like a churchy incense, even though that isn't a listed note. It's probably just a combination of the notes it does have, like maybe gunpowder+fir balsam. It is fairly smoky at least in the opening. The gunpowder smells stronger than it does in La Fin du Monde (the only other perfume I've tried with gunpowder listed). Black pepper is very easy to pick up, and so is the orange. I've never smelled a "bitter orange" note to my knowledge (yes I haven't smelled TDH) but it's very likeable. I smell very little if any booziness from the cognac note so far, and I think it's likely to stay that way, at least for me. I usually don't have mid/base notes suddenly pop up like "Oh, there's the (X)". I think I get a small amount of the tobacco now, about 15 minutes in. It also seems to have gotten a little grassier. My last thoughts are that the orange seems to have disappeared pretty early on, but maybe my nose just got used to it. It's extremely dry and very masculine. This would not fit your average woman, or really any woman at all.
>but perfume doesn't have a gender
Shut up dummy

This fits a similar spot to Royal Oud for me, but isn't redundant at all and is higher quality. Oh and I kinda forgot about the cedar note but it's definitely there (Hence the Royal Oud comparison). It is worth the money they're asking, so I'm very happy about getting it for near half price. Also about 20 minutes in now and I can't shake the feeling of the incense note, similar to Avignon/Cardinal/Liturgies Des Heures/Lavs. More reminiscent of than similar to, I guess.

>Wild salmon

Imagining him standing in a river in a power pose. The bears won’t come near him, the miasma is too strong. “I love all of God’s creations”, he shouts. He kneels down in the water and throws his hands to the heavens. “Thank you Jesus”. He reaches into the water and grabs a fresh wild salmon. He gazes into its eyes. He brings it to his face and inhales deeply. “Beautiful aquatic top notes, like the work of master perfumer Alberto Morillas”. He places the wild salmon on a rock. He lowers himself and does some pre-dinner push-ups. He slips and smashes his head into the rocks. The scent washes off of him. The bears approach. They prod his body. Skin and bones. His body spins in the stream.

That's like saying: my friends felt better at my barbeque when i played top 40 music then when i played better music. They're not automatically poor taste imbeciles, it's just that top 40 music is liked by most, while everybody else almost also enjoy some other non mainstream music, but it might ve different to what you enjoy. To put in fragrance "words": everybody likes citrus, woody, fruity. A few like incense, oud. You might have the best incense frag out there, will be loved by a few but you'll smell like a priest to most. Like it or not, some smells have strong connotations, this is what the idiot that insists on frgagrances having no genders doesn't understand.

Man, after 3 days of weak Nasomattos this Prissana sample is a blessing. SOTD is Mandarava, a big resinous tuberose bomb with enough civet underneath to remind me of Maai. Unlike Maai it has some aldehydes that make it a bit more feminine IMO, but still really lush.
