Not sure about the 60/ 70s, I'm more of a 19th century tardette trying to implement actual folk cloths into a modern context without larping too hard. Although last time I visited a convention in my normal cloths a couple guys asked for a picture, implying I didn't cut the balance. Pic related with the actual kashubian ornaments and maybe something extra down the hem. Straw hat with it, some oxfords/ sandals. Maybe some waist belt mathing the leather shoes and a matching string for the hat.

The later would represent Townsends, which live happily in their larping world, unmolested by current events while I guess implementing certain elements into modernity is the longing you are speaking about, to which I would subscribe myself. There really isn't any other way of expressing it in daily life to begin with.
