keep in mind GS is universally considered to be only a smidge below Patek as far as craftsmanship is concerned
they are relatively cheap because they have literally no advertising budget. it's all word-of-mouth and sold mostly to watch connoisseurs. a GS is almost never anybody's first watch and you can't flex on normies with it. but if you know, you know. the GS is one of the very best designs in the world.

>Taisetsu: The Deep Snow of Winter
Pine trees crusted with snow, silent under the sun of winter. It’s when the world has settled into a slumber only to awaken in the spring. This model’s dial celebrates the winter snow as it gathers and glitters against the sunlight.
>Shunbun: The Vernal Equinox
When sakura blossoms fall into water, they swirl and float. The pink blossoms dance on the water, and the Japanese call them flower rafts, hanaikada. The pink dial of this model captures the spirit of the fleeting sakura season.
>Rikka: Early Summer
As spring passes to summer, the land turns lush and green. A refreshing summer zephyr blows over waving fields and grass. This refreshing zephyr in Japanese is kunpu. This model’s rich, green dial seizes a summer moment to enjoy forever.
>Shubun: The Autumnal Equinox
Under the moonlight, the night is quiet except for the last of the chirping crickets. The bright moon against the dark sky in Japanese is known as tsukiyo. The dial of this model is a dark blue to celebrate the autumnal equinox and represent the autumn clouds as they float through the sky.

do you guys find yourselves "beating the hypebeast market" as you mature and find yourselves positioned with healthy disposable income?

for instance, i prefer gs over any watch brand. it's technically superior but lacks the name rec. similarly, i love wearing 100% luxury wool (merino, cashmere, virgin lambswool) sweaters which cost a third of some retarded gucci x supreme collab that runs you like $1k for 70% acrylic or polyester. again with shoes - genuinely well-made leather shoes from places like ferragamo vs. the latest custom sold out low-quality indonesian made nike dunks or yeezys that go for $600-$1k.

the hypebeast market is such a useful tool. all the real luxury shit is easier to find magnificent deals on.

No, your strap with a buckle is not acceptable. Those things cause damage to the strap every time you take it off. No, your stupid butterfly clasp is not acceptable. $20k is the absolute maximum a watch should cost in terms of craftsmanship, material, technique, time spent, and fair labor wages.

I hate the double batons because when you put two of them together like that, they look too thick, and it looks like there's no beveling or very little because they just seem to be two big flat blocks of lume stuck together. it doesn't look elegant or classy and then when you go 41mm it loses all claim to being a nice little dress watch and becomes a sport watch, only it doesn't have the personality to pull it off. there's no wow factor.

The movement is more complicated because it's basically two movements. More parts, attached to each other in a complicated way. It's a huge pain in the ass and more steps means more chance of messing something up, more things to look at and look for. A lot of watchmakers just don't want to bother and neither does Omega. They pass the cost on to you.
