Post fragrance sins
>I like the hollister smell

>> No.15858301

Just bought some samples.
>Carthusia Mediterraneo
I've learned about the brand from Terra Mia, a cloyingly sweet coffee scent. Curious to see how they do citrus freshies.
>Daniel Josier Quetzaly
>Daniel Josier Mystery Oud
Had this brand on the radar since this one anon brought it to our attention.
>Evody Ambre Intense
The most popular Evody frag and I wanted to try this brand for quite a long time.
>Rouge Bunny Rouge Tundra
Juniper, cedar, laurels, moss, elemi, bergamot, vetiver. I really like OJ Ormonde Man so it was obvious pick.
>Rania J Lavande 44
Some people say it reminds them of MDCI Invasion Barbare.
>Rania J Oud Assam
Don't have very high expectations as I'm not that excited about oud fragrances anymore. Hope to be positively surprised.
>Pont des Arts Next Tee
Bertrand Duchaufour's matte scent. Might be lovely.
>Anatole Lebreton Perfumista
I will probably dislike it judging from the sweet, fruity notes but it was an Art + Olfaction Award finalist and I always try to test scents from there.
>Gallivant London
It's apparently an ozonic rose scent. I was really impressed with their Berlin and it's another A+O Award finalist, so it was a nobrainer.

I really love Byredo's Bal d'Afrique, it reminds me of getting picked up by my mom as a kid and smelling her hairspray, but it's a bit too feminine for me to actually wear. Tom Ford Oud Wood has a similar hairspray-like quality in a more masculine way and I really like the dry-down but its durability is just abysmal for me, completely disappears in like 5 hours. I can't justify the cost for that kind of performance. So I'm still looking for a high quality masculine-leaning fragrance with a similar vibe. Suggestions are welcome.

>Fort and Manle Fatih Sultan Mehmed

Heard good things about it here and elsewhere
>Orto Parisi Boccanera
A+O Award finalist
>Orto Parisi Megamare
Let's see how does it compare to Squid, Acqua di Sale and other aquatics
>Stora Skuggan Silphium
A+O Award finalist
>Serge Lutens Cuir Mauresque
Luca Turin was praising it a lot
>Rundholz Parfums 20Mars2022
It apparently is reminiscent of the first Norne formulation and I hope it'll sweeten all the waiting for my bottle from this faggot Josh
>Helmut Lang Cuiron
>Helmut Lang Eau de Cologne
Wanted to try Lang for years
>Cloon Keen Castana
5/5 according to LT, I expect a niche, non-synthetic version of By The Fireplace
>Mendittorosa Archetipo
Was really impressed with their OSANG and and Le Mat, notes look great

>> No.15858509

>>15858479
Fatih Sultan Mehmed is really great but the performance is too bad to purchase it. I saw someone on basenotes say that you can get them to customize your concentration for a relatively small upcharge (according to that guy). I doubt that would really help with projection, but longevity might be improved.

I've tried Maduro once. Too sweet if I remember correctly, maybe I'll give it another go. Mr. Bojnokopff smells good but again the performance isn't very good. I think the real stars are in his solo line. Cielito Lindo is a caramely, sweet, but light and watery rose with ambergris at the same time. It's great and relatively inexpensive. Kolonya is also very good and it's even less expensive but like I've mentioned a few threads ago or so the splash opening is the size of a U.S. dime so it pretty much has to be decanted into a sprayer, which is sort of a negative for me because I like applying from the bottle, gives it a more special feel.

SOTE is Burning Ben by Strangers. I haven’t worn this for a while. If you’ve seen the film “Burning” you’ll understand why this is such a fun fragrance, but to explain why would be a massive spoiler. However, that’s not to say I love it in the sense I’d like to own it. It starts out beautifully, rich, luxurious chocolate-covered cherries, a hint of hazelnut to tame the sweetness and stop it being too rich. As it gets in to the mid it takes on a very dirty form, Castoreum really makes it’s presence known. I was dangerously close to scrubbing it off the first time I wore it, but I persevered. Once it gets to the drydown it becomes more leathery and woody. It’s definitely a fragrance with clearly defined stages and one with serious development. I think it’s technically fantastic in the way it develops and despite the fact I would never own it, I have a huge amount of respect for it.

I absolutely love Encre Noire & Encre Noire a L'Extreme, but what's something I can wear in warm weather? Bonus points if it's less than $50.

My problem is the only notes I like are typically found in cold weather fragrances. I'm not into fresh or floral scents and aquatics are generally a no-go for me as well. I don't even like Encre Noire Sport, the opening makes me gag.

Hell, is original EN at all suitable for warm weather in a small dose or would I really need something different?

Certainly. As mentioned I don't think they smell the same, just something about the spicy floral heart of L'Eau Intense that reminds me of Old Spice in the vaguest possible way, but other than that they are totally different. The Carven is much brighter, less spicy overall and slightly green.

>What makes the Armani so good?

It's masterfully blended. You get a really full, sweet rose from the first second you spray it without any bite, annoying edges, no gaps. Smells natural even though it's clearly exaggerated. The saffron gives it a bit more punch at the top and the subtle woody base adds just enough darkness to make it wearable for men despite the sweetness. When you get in close it smells clean and even a little fresh without being soapy. The performance isn't monstrous but I get a good 7-8 hours out of it before it really pipes down, at which point it still lingers for ages as a skin scent.

Old bottles of LNDL are expensive as hell these days and having used both the old formulation and the new, I can't say I see much value in dropping three figures on something for a few hours of extra performance. Better to get the new one for a deal and either add a couple sprays or respray later in the day. In the long run, you'll save more.

Ombré leather smells like straight up leather with a very faint sweetness and it has good longevity. It’s a masculine compliment getter. If you like that leather jacket kind of smell you’d probably like OL. Not as good as Tuscan leather imo.
I have costa azzura private blend, I’ve heard it’s close to the new signature line version but I can’t confirm myself so take that with a grain of salt.
CA private is fresh & masculine, it has an incredible sea salt smell, slightly woody, nice peppery spice. Think of a beach vacation in Greece. My signature S/S scent, I get quite a few compliments (been told it makes me smell rich), performance is just ok.

You get the trademark xj citrus on top, lemons, orange, and whatever else, but it has mint in with it, neither one is super heavy, they are both well blended and create this smell, more like an accord rather than individual notes. Next I get this wonderful Lily of the valley, slightly sweet and creamy, it's great, I've looked into more lotv perfumes because of it. The base is a great musky slight sweat cream ceder. no joke, olfactory compatability is important
I don't LOVE the way my girl smells but she's utterly inoffensive. If you both smell at least inoffensive to eachother you'll be fine, ideally you should like eachothers scents. This then naturally translates to which fragrances you enjoy. If you have compatible scents, your likelihood of being genetically compatible for making children is higher.

Hi there!

You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of 4chan are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have referenced the United States of America when posting, but the country has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stay on topic when replying to posts on 4chan, unless the thread is about Americans! Referring to a nation of people when it isn't necessary is poor form. You should always treat everyone as Anonymous, unless their nationality is absolutely vital to the post that you're making!

Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my bit to help you get used to the anonymous image-board culture!

He is not the best, in fact the more in depth they are with fragrances the fucking worse they are. Giving the vibe of the fragrance is much more concise and gets it across perfectly, "rasberry fabric softener" was the best possible review of mont blanc individuel. He didn't need 6 minutes of rambling before getting to what it's actually like or some irrelevant discontinued shit he smelled once 4 years ago that is similar to it and takes him on some other tangent.
