I mean, it does, but to me relying on a battery seems like a cop-out when it comes to this sort of thing. Every issue today seems to have a electrical item made for its convenience. That screenshot earlier in the thread is basically right in saying watches are more jewelry than tool, but I think that's selling it short. Watches are also a "marvel" to me, which includes the appreciation for the design and purpose as well as the appearance.

I'm not dissing quartz watches, most of mine are quartz, but there is just something special about a mechanical watch that feels connected to centuries, or millennia, of engineering involved in its design. Winding and setting a watch almost feels like a ritual to me at this point, as faggy as that sounds. It feels very special, to me.
