This is my collection so far, I haven't taken it very seriously so far, every watch has a specific purpose. Sports, fun and casual wear. Still looking for a dresser as I'll need one soon.

It does scratch easily, like all Grand Seikos with Zaratsu. MIne has remained very clear, I'm pretty careful with my watches.

The dial does indeed change based on the lighting, it has this great brushed finishing.

Lange hands are made by
1) stamping them out
2) buffing the tops
Pretty much nothing else is done to them, the edges are left raw and the surface has no definition.

GS hands get multiple facets expertly polished into them, often even with contrasting brushing thrown in.

There's just no comparison.

At least you’re not as bad as Italy, which is like the center of fakes and scams of the watch world. I’ve been fucked twice and both were from Italy.

The most honest sellers for me have always been from Japan. Probably because of their culture.

Second is USA because with American sellers it is very easy to read up on their history and customer reviews.

Also American and German sellers very frequently if not always have physical stores, at least on Chrono24. That is always a good sign.

I have been buying watches online for like a decade, highend and lowend.

Some other things of note, German and Japanese sellers often charge way too high when compared to UK and USA sellers. idk why. I can understand Japan due to shipping fees and such but Germans should at least be more competitive.

French sellers are a mixed bag. Have never experienced a fake but their customer service sucks. Either poor attitude or just very little communication.

I'm considering tracking down a 36mm Explorer but
>pressed fucking clasp
and my years of hunting microshitters has given me a deep aversion to them. Should I expect to be disappointed if I grab one, or start trying on the 39mm models at an AD? Worried that one would be too big on my tiny 6-and-a-bit inch wrists, for comparison a SARB017 Alpinist is a tad big for my taste.

Experience and opinions on metal modding a square G-Shock? (5610)
How wearable is it? Is there a particular one to get, or are the popular ones on Aliexpress all good? What color is the best in your opinion, or just go bare steel? I'm not sure if pic related will be cool or just ridiculous.

Also is a set being 46€ instead of 96€ really a sale? What a good price for these things?

The one you posted is nice. Some anon has one like that on a yellow face 5600 and it's my favorite square mod. I have a regular 5610 with the regular steel bracelet and I like it a lot. if your wrist is under 6.75 inches you'll need to file the bracelet end link or else it won't properly hug your wrist. Don't get the titanium one like >>15785916 recommends, it's a scratch magnet. I got mine from MFG. It's easier to instal the bracelet before installing the bezel.

The original version could only be used on substances with a melting point higher than 1022° F, implying that it would melt generally anything less heat resistant. The substance has a “specific target organ toxicity—single exposure,” which means, according to the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, that it can cause “non-lethal, but reversible or irreversible damage to specific organs after contact.” All these warnings are already attached to the substance, and it hasn’t even been fully tested.
