Luckily for you, I actually "researched" this topic. Here's what I remember from the top of my head:
Cartier Santos
Hamilton Ventura
Other random Hamiltons
Certain casio G shocks
Casio MDV106
Random citizens of varying pedigree
Random Tudors
Nomos Metro, Tangente
Vostok Amphibia with the right dial
Seagull 1963
Tag Monaco
Zenith El Primero
Seiko Monster
Certain other seikos with very flashy dials
Certain Orient divers
Omega speedmaster (depends)
Panerai in general
Rolex would be on the list, but see the jogger section

Basically, anything that stands out without looking too gaudy. I'm not sure why the Nomos metro got put there, then. It's quirky but understated compared to the rest.

>watchfags
There are tons of different types of watchfags, as long as you stay away from chinkshit at least one type will probably give you a nod. And even then, if it has the ST19 you still might get something.

When I set my watch, is it okay to roll the time backwards?
>As a general practice, no for mechanical watches, yes with some limitations for quartz watches. For some watches with mechanical movements, this is a bad idea for several reasons. First, the mechanisms are usually designed around moving forward, so some cannot take the stress of reversing properly. Second, after a mechanical watch settles in, reversing the watch against the pattern of wear may cause unnecessary additional wear.
>Both mechanical and quartz watches with dates and other complications handled by mechanical parts can be harmed by rolling the time backwards--especially near midnight.
>Despite that, many modern watches can be reversed with no problem. But it is best to check with the manufacturer to be sure. The one general rule is that if your mechanical watch's second hand does not hack, then you should definitely not turn the hands backwards.
>The types of watches where it never matters to turn the time backwards are quartz watches where neither the date window nor the hands are moved directly by the crown. Two examples are the Breitling Aerospace and Omega Seamaster Multifunction. On both of these, the date appears on a digital display and the hands are moved forward or backwards electronically by commands issued by rotating the crown.

with a 12hour bezel you dont need a gmt hand though, you just set the bezel +- the hours and read it from there. With a 24hr bezel you definitely need an extra hand. Technically a 12hr bezel is called a dual time bezel. The minus VS a traditional gmt is that AM/PM is not indicated.

This is absolute bullshit, it's perfectly ok. Unless your watch is a house money grade piece, and if you're so worried about wear you probably don't even use it anyway.
When you're setting the time, the dial side gears that hold the hands slip and decouple from the main timekeeping gears, that's what they're designed to do. Setting the time backwards does not cause the whole mechanism to run backwards, unless the cannon pinion is absolutely stuck, in which case the wear is the least of your problems. The cannon pinion can wear down and loosen up, but that doesn't depend on the direction.

Entry level Tissot's use the version of the Powermatic 80 movement with plastic parts. It's disposable trash. The chronometer Tissot's use a version of the Powermatic 80 movement that doesn't have any plastic parts, but which still gets thrown out and replaced at service.

What should be understood by a consumer is this: The old ETA 2824-2 that Tissot used to use cost more to make than to have a watchmaker service, so it would get serviced. The new Powermatic 80 movements cost so little to manufacture that they its cheaper to replace them than service them.

That said, if you aren't a watch nerd there is no reason you should care about this. The Powermatic 80 is fine for people who don't actually care about watch movements.

Seiko already has a bunch of models that are in the range you are talking about, but their model range lines are so poorly organized and explained that many people don't realize it.

Seiko's upper mid-range models (SARX and up) are made in Japan in a separate production chain from their lower mid-range models (Turtle, Cocktail Times). Towards the $1k end they have SARX models and similar that have very good external finishing but only have a 6R movement, and towards the $3K end of the spectrum they have GS-tier external finishing and undecorated GS movements (or the 6L35 which is a great ETA 2892-A2 competitor they developed in house and don't use enough).

There's no 52KS that looks the same though, it's a near perfect copy of 5625-7111 (with an added gold medal), but you're right. It's a hybrid with 56KS case and 52KS movement. >The 7C46 is a (Hi-Tech) multi jeweled movement with "Hi-Torque tolerances and High efficiency" built in over prior 7 series quartz movements, which enable the 7-jeweled geartrain and pinions to motion & turn the hands in perfect sync to the energy-pulse, with much less kinetic effort via the electronic step motors that power them. Thus making for a highly accurate and efficient full size quartz machine to perform strongly with much less resistance.
>They also incorporate (dual-rate trimmers) which allow the watch to be perfectly synchronized for extreme accuracy, which aid in the longevity and add to there lifespan, while running well with in the stated accuracy specs.
>They also enjoy the added benefits of, Low-Drain electronics while providing High-Torque Power to the gear driven train and Oversized Hands for optimal efficiency & extended battery life. As an added plus, this caliber also incorporates the E.O.L. (End Of Life) Low battery warning feature, of the seconds hand ticking at 2 second intervals when the battery voltage is low, thus alerting the owner its time to replace the battery cell.
>The cases also provide "Enhanced antimagnetic Gauss's law & thermal compensational technology, as well as full Helium/Nitrogen gas Prevention & Dispersional technology.
>They also can be completely disassembled for cleaning & service many years down the road; that together with the other quality design features therefore make this movement, the absolute highest quality advanced Professional quartz divers watch movement in the world AFAIC.

Not him but:
>After successfully modifying one of his personally-owned Ferrari 250 GTs to outperform stock models, Lamborghini gained the impetus to pursue an automobile manufacturing venture of his own, aiming to create the perfect touring car that he felt no one could build for him.
With this in mind Lamborghinis could be seen as the uncompromising performance cars while the Ferraris were just coasting on their racing reputation, but the fact remains that Lamborghini cars never entered racing because the focus was on performance ROAD cars.
On a related note as of a few years ago there wasn't a single international offshore powerboat event that hadn't been won by a Lamborghini engine.

The Ferrari / Lamborghini analogy was stupid.
