I have explained this a few times but I guess one more won't hurt.

The UK has for many years had a lot of city knife crime. It's basically entirely niggers stabbing niggers. It got seriously bad in around 2005-2010 until the police finally got permission to enact a controversial stop and search where they basically targeted black young men and got a lot of knife crime levels down.

But that stop and search got stopped because of politics even though it was fantastic, and now knife murders in English cities are higher than ever. These silly little public displays of police very clearly not doing a correct job is an unspoken protest by the police that the police are unable to take on the true criminals because they don't have the laws to do so.

Invictas are future classics. First they'll go entirely out of fashion and many mechanical ones will get discarded as getting them repaired won't be economical but a few decades later they will be regarded as the most iconic watches of the first quarter of the 21st century. They'll be highly collectable, especially amongst a new generation of SEA watch collectors, with the most obscene and morbidly oversized limited edition models fetching exorbitant prices. Unironically the best long term investment pieces in the market.

You need a thick piece of dense metal to produce the same torque as the thinner full rotors. So a good chunk of expensive precious metals is always needed which is expensive. It also requires a movement built around it. You can't simply modify an existing movement.

Can someone comment on my bullshit blacked out obsession and persuade me into it or dissuade me entirely.

I feel something like this would be a great "one watch collection" for me - it's not $20k so it can be a beater, it's a respectable brand that people actually know, so it's a "nice watch", and it's a military looking watch which is the style I like.

The only problem is that the bullshit coating gets worn and scratched in like a week, so all the used ones look terrible.

What do?

I have a Seiko Monster with PVD coating. It has moderate plating loss on the hard corners of the bezel, case, and bracelet. Despite all of this, I think it looks great, because the toolishness of the design lends itself to wear and tear. Pic related isn't PVD, but you get the point. Your Breitling Avenger is DLC coated, which is much more durable than Seiko's PVD. The bold design of the bezel, with its angles and use of engraving for notches and numbers, can handle some wear and tear. Get it, it'll look good. Speedy is great, whatever the retards here say. Just so good looking in person. Get the upgraded clasp.

Errr the Tudor pelagos, I personally don't like it, thick but light, feel cheap in hand maybe I would get over it in time, id rather a Sub (retarded pricing) or seamasters (one brand, go with the speedy) i can see why you have went with it.

I like Laco, underrated, I think their higher end watches are better than Stowas for quality and a bit cheaper. I'd rather have an A dial.

JLC love it! Great brand, id probably go with a reverso but master is great too. I would like more contrast in the hand vs dial but its a dress watch so its not so bad.

Drop the gshock, I know I know its for cutting the grass, at the gym whatever, just use your phone.

Timeless collection, will look good in 10 years. Swatch the Tudor pelagos for a blue 58 thats all I can can really. Grand seiko sbgw231 is another option for the JLC, the JLC is probably better.

Yeah I guess it depends on what you're doing with it - this guy's Avenger is from 2018 for example, and it looks like this, some are much worse, some are much better, from how many I've seen I would say that this is on the better end of average. Do you think this is acceptable?

Wow, I've never had somebody get the "one brand" thing before, good shit. Yeah with a small collection I didn't want to have multiple from one brand.

Ironically, the whole time I was saving for my diver I had the Seamaster in-mind. It wasn't until I was ready to purchase and I went to an AD and tried on both watches that I bought the Pelagos. The Seamaster was very nice, probably a better watch, but it ended up just looking so flashy. With that reflective ceramic dial, the polished hour markers, glossy bezel, it just shimmered like a disco ball, and the Pelagos was so the opposite that I just absolutely loved it.

As for the rest, I didn't know there was an upgraded Speedy clasp I'll have to look into that. I do normally wear it on a NATO or a leather anyways though, it's a strap-monster! Laco I appreciate that you like it, I was also between this ans Stowa but the case shape just sold me on it. I was aiming for the A dial, but I decided I wanted to see how the B dial was for daily use with the minutes having more focus, and I actually really dig it. Plus it looks more like an actual dial in a cockpit. The JLC was actually sort of a compromise, I'd like to get something hand-wound and with a little more personality, but I got it for a great price. The G-Shock doesn't get much wrist time admittedly, but there's something charming and humbling about the $40 watch that people put just as high as luxury brands in terms of respect.

As far as the Blue BB58, as much as I love the style of that watch, my diver tends to be my daily, and my daily needs a date window, no exceptions.

Most of the guys here at /wt/ don't get it, they call it boring, I can see its a well thought out collection, colourful dial watch get old fast and the blue need to be just right. Gets expensive quick running after dial colours and you rarely wear them because they are hard to match with outfits and a lot if the time can look tacky. Just change your strap colours.....

Now show me in that screencap where it says that in order to be a meme something must be popular.
Memes can forced, they can be about something unpopular or hated, they can be completely empty and without significant meaning or substance.
Memes are spread mindlessly by people who are copying others in their culture; it doesn't mean the meme is popular or has any significance. They're a product of groupthink and tribalism.
Things like consumer products aren't necessarily memes because they're popular, they're memes because people mindlessly consume them out of a desire to be part of an accepted group.
In turn, another group becomes contrarian and dislikes a product because they are popular with a group they don't like. Then their unpopularity becomes a negative meme about them.
Tl;dr: memes are about group identity and tribalism, not popularity
