What is the fucking point in making an initialism out of your name to then put the full fucking name as well in the logo

it would look better if it just had F.O.D on the dial especially as Fly over Darkness sounds shit.

Why are watch companies so utterly shit at logos. Like those new islander watches with a fucking unicorn on the dial.

Does anybody have experience with Breitling’s divers? I’m a fan of bold designs, especially on the bezel. I like the use of a solid piece of steel, with relief markings, rather than using an aluminum bezel insert. The Avenger Seawolf has many of the design elements that I like. I find Submariners boring, and I’m turned off by the Seamaster design. For reference, I’m a huge fan of the Seiko Monster design, but I’m looking for a higher quality diver with similar aesthetics. >what about in-house 3hander?
>what's the point?
Somebody is putting a lot of money into this brand, they want the prestige of an in-house movement and based on their current range there isn't really any reason to make anything but a 3 hander unless they want the spend big $$$ on an in-house chronograph.

Okay so i guess it depends a lot on what you can actually get one for. It has the same movement in it as a $500 Hamilton Khaki Field. Sure it's to top spec chronometer version with much more decoration, better qc, adjustment etc, maybe a different hairspring. But it is still just an eta. But if you want a big chunky dive watch like that from a respectable swiss brand there aren't a lot of options in that price range. Breitling definitely has a niche in big bold styles that aren't too gaudy.

I’ve heard similar on the WUS forums. They’ve mentioned great build quality, beautiful finishing, and longevity. They also mentioned how this brand takes a beating on resale value, and how Breitling pays off when bought preowned. That’s what I’m going to do. Here is something on the sales forum going for $1,500. It’s a little more conservative, but still within the realm of what I’m after

Ok, do they actually have customer service issues though?
Because from what I've seen of forum posts, it literally just comes down to people being retards and not reading stuff that is just below the "add to cart" button or long shipping time/service time when you send your watch back (which is the case for basically any watchmaker).
Only thing that seems legit is their customer service people being french and being bad at english.

To answer your question: This watch is part of a relatively new line of sekio 5s. They're more expensive than the old fives, because they have a hacking movement (many people claim it to be more accurate as well, the jury is out). The most likely way you will find a discount is someone clearing inventory if they don't sell as well as they had anticipated. I do not have any sales data, so another anon will have to tell you how likely this is. It does not seem likely to me that the price will skyrocket.

So is quartz development pretty much dead?

I know Citizen has their high accuracy top of the line model out now but outside of that most quartz watches haven’t changed in like 20 years.

Should I just buy a nice quality HAQ watch and call it a day?

It’s not like mechanical watches which ironically enough have had way more advancements over the last couple of decades. I have never spent too much $ on mechanical because every year they come out with something technologically superior.

I bought one of them when they first came out(SBDN028), they wear decently because even though they're smaller they still have chunky proportions. Build quality is nothing special, misaligned chapter ring, twitchy second hand, the same as their sub $300 solars so the premium on these isn't really justified. They're not super rare as there were 2000 of each colorway with the exception of the all black one which was 300 pieces. The final nail in the coffin is a few years after they released a "normal" non-limited series of solar tunas that looked a lot like regular tunas, much better visually than the SBDN series.

Yeah, in addition to just running... more during the same time and thus wearing down faster, hi-beat movements also need stronger mainsprings, which means more torque and more grinding. I'm not sure if there's any significant difference in isochronism between 28,800bph and 36,000bph (I've seen it said that at least over 36,000 seems to offer no actual benefits) but it seems that 28,800 offers the best balance of performance and longetivity.

What is the most accessible way to get seikos grammar of design.

I'm reluctant to drop £500 on a watch thatbis going to lose minutes a day. Or is that the wrong mindset to have when looking at vintage watches? Why don't seiko have anything as sharp in their modern lineup.

I've read up a bit and know thag maybe the hi-beat models are something I should avoid due to excessive wear on tje movement. Should i maybe look at a penis quartz?
