One year ago I would've called you a coping faggot but fuck the swiss and fuck watch """enthusiasts""" that are still supporting this unfunny trinket business. Big corp dictating the market, no innovation or competition (omega, tissot and longines in the same group when in the past they used to compete, now merely placed in budget brackets), riding on past designs that interns still manage to fuck up through bloated dials, and half the cost going into marketing. Don't even start on the "le vintage le history" watch bussiness. Thirty grand to sell you a Rolex "Piss and shit dial" sub that couldn't even handle some rain. I know the swiss haven't recovered from the quartz crisis but honestly they deserved worse. Fuck the watch industry, fuck mountain jews, fuck watch enthusiasts and fuck jannies. Now I have become specmonster, destroyer of swiss. Now excuse me while I buy my Sandiago Martino.

you need to stop wasting money on chinkshit, seriously. you think they're fun purchases or whatever but before you know it you dumped like $500 bucks that could have went towards a nice watch.
vostoks and casios don't count, they're original designs and will actually last longer than a few months, even $10 casios and pot metal 'dirskies will outlive you assuming proper care.

This is serious advice for all.
DO

What is COPECORE?

PLEBBIT WATCHES
>le speedy professional man on le moon
>soiko SARB
>any fucking tissot dress watch

You have to accept that you're autistic and only like watches because they're shiny spinny things that offer a lot of choice and complexity. The "industry" is not targeting you, but rich chinks and middle class retards with disposable income.
You will *never* be satisfied with the state of watches in the current century, and the sooner you realize that the less money you will waste.

In my 15+ years of being a serious watch spastic I bought 2 "expensive" pieces, a seiko tuna SBBN033 and le moonwatch.
Hated both for different reasons and I'm glad I didn't lose money on either. I now have a very defined list of things I want in a watch and a collection that I'm content with.

I never called you a poorfag for shitting on reddit watches. I agree with you on a look of the homage watches but you also write off a lot of nice watches as "second choice" or cope.

you shit on all Rolex but the Sub/Daytona pretty much which they are the most pedestrian and over priced. Sure they are pretty much the platonic ideal of their categories but you can find something more stylish/interesting. the Polar explorer is a nice looking white dial sports watch and a 1016 explorer is a cool watch.

You brag about how rich you are but plenty of people can't go out and drop over a grand on a quartz tuna but can afford a couple of hundred and enjoy an alternative. I tried it on (2019 black maxi case) told him I'd "discuss with the wife" and walked out.
I honestly was just killing time and walked in the boutique instead of getting lunch since I wasn't hungry.
>>15715913
To me a toolwatch needs a timing function, either a chronograph or a dive bezel, at least 100m of WR, 20 or 22mm lugs because that gives you the most strap and bracelet options and doesn't need any kind of service for at least 5 years when bought new. And when it does need servicing I need to be able to do it myself.

I specifically said I hated them and would never buy any rolex. What don't you understand about that? This has nothing to do with spending power, if you can drop 3-4k on a shitty explorer II you can save up a bit more for a none coping watch. It was more showing that I have the choice to buy any shitty plebbit watch I want, but refuse to do so because I'm not a retarded faggot.

At last, my San Martin "TiGeR sHaRkS" with the correct green dial has arrived on my doorstep.
I've bought one from Aliexpress around August but received the wrong model with a black dial.
The company has been very cooperative, refunding me the money for the return shipping and giving me additional leather straps with the watch. I love the green sunburst dial coupled with the black bezel and case. Gonna change the nylon strap for a black stainless bracelet.

Quick note: The lume on this green variant is C1 green with the marker on the bezel being BGW9. The black one had BGW9 hands and bezel and C1 green indices. Better contact the seller first before you buy a watch from them.

The finishing is really good, can't spot any dents, scratches or irregularities. The bezel has slight play but locks nicely (120 clicks). Crown is grippy, no problems winding it up. Sunburn effect on dial is really good, lume application without issues. No encased dust particles to speak of.

Doesn't reek of Chinese manufacturing at all.

That still doesn't answer the part about the warranty. If the seller is providing it, which somewhere like Jomashop would do, then you can't get the watch serviced by the manufacturer. The sellers own watchmakers will have to service or repair it so keep that in mind.

Do you want to do the whole thing or just the end that is too fat for the lugs?
It's really a bad idea. Done by hand the whole thing will be uneven. It will also take an eternity to file down that 1mm. Never underestimate filing. You'd need something like this so you can fix the band in place and grind it evenly. But that costs more than just finding a fittig 19mm band.

I haven't seen the lange in person but I am quite familiar with casio. That casio has a very different finish on the case than the lange. The lange is smooth throughout except for a very light brush on one part, one of my seiko's does that too. The edges on the indicies and hands are delicately polished metal (note, a lot of entry level swiss, and even omega and rolex do not do this)

You should have put this casio instead, it's a genuine giant slayer and makes nearly every other dive watch hang their head in shame. The only bad thing about it is that the "mirror finish" is a little uneven. But the thing is like $40, who cares?

If the indices and hands don't count, then basically it's down to the fact that they didn't get to automate their dial making process as easily. Also, note that a ton of the price isn't just the dial, but the case and movement which you seem to conveniently ignore.

> The dial is a work of art: both the wreath of hour indexes and the subdial for the seconds are grooved, while the inner part of both the main dial and the subdial have rough surfaces. The bar-shaped hour indexes are made of white gold and each one not only slopes downward toward the center of the dial, but also has an M-shaped cross section and is filled with luminous material along its midline. The satin-finished minutes scale runs along the flange — a practical solution, and a somewhat unusual one for Lange.
I know it’s a retarded troll but there is probably someone who unironically agrees with him lurking.

Anyways. The double engraved balance cock is a nice change that only appears in that new movement. It makes the watch more shock resistant and rugged since it's supposed to be a "sports model".

I could even tell you the name of the South European manufacture where the restoration was done, but I'm not here to ruin anyone's business.
Get familiar with the four or five serious manufactures capable of executing quality restorations, compare their public works to pre-2010 auction photos of the same vintage pIeces, get familiar with how lume and varnish(!) ages and you'll see the telltale signs. Think with the mind of an artist with access to a wide range of household chemicals and industrial/photographic bulbs then do some experiments of your own and you will see how certain effects are achieved.
And yes, in the last decade a whole lucrative business was built to (re)produce sought after pieces, most collectable watches with mint condition or evenly tropicalized dials on the market today are not organic, nor are most aesthetically pleasing radium burn patterns. Cases are also extensively restored.

The dial is great and very practical. The movement is up to the usual Lange standards as well. I don't know anyone that likes the bracelet and the strap-only white gold version isn't that much better. >The dial is a work of art: the wreath of hour indexes is masterfully brushed into a subtle sunburst texture emanating from the centre, and separated from the inner part of the dial by a grooved ring connecting all three subdials, each of which is decorated by even more, and even smaller grooves, as if you were wearing a portable Zen garden on your wrist, complete with a sun-reflecting Koi pool in the middle.

The boat-shaped sloped indices circle the otherwise peaceful dial in an aggressive and almost threatening manner, like the Western vessels arriving to Japan in the 16th and 19th centuries, reminding the wearer of the Japanese concept of mono no aware - the melancholic awareness of the impermanence of all things, yet the pearly luminescent material inside the "ships" hints at a possibly lucrative paradigm shift. A similarly pearly tachymeter chapter ring borders the great tapestry of the dial, allowing you to time your achievements in this life and push yourself to the very limit, for the sake (https://kanpai.my/shop/jozen-mizuno-gotoshi-sparkling-sake-360ml/)) of your family, and the glory of your nation. A coffin-shaped hour hand, a Tower-shaped minute hand, and a compass bezel combine this eclectic mixture of freemasonic esotericism and ominous Tarot symbolism with the promise of always being there and helping you find your bearings in life.

May you always find your way out of the forest, and wear it in good health. Kanpai!

they have the same shameless gaudy slavshit aesthetics they had back when russia was called the soviet union, the same strangely engineered soviet movement that is actually very robust if poorly regulated out of the factory, all the classic models cost under $100 and it's a great watch with interesting features like the decoupled crown stem and gigantic o-ring for maximum water resistance. the finishing is surprisingly nice. the stock bracelets are kinda shit, pull hair with rolled links and a terrible clasp, but their milanese and silicon bands are nice.
the only real drawback is that the bezel has no spring because it's meant for water pressure to hold it down so it just slides back and forth rather than having a ratchet action.

So come on, invent a reason why they're all so much better people than me, retard.

leather natoes only look decent if
A) you have a thick manly wrist
B) you wear it the alternate way so the excess strap is underneath your wrist instead of jutting out the side

and like other natoes it looks best on a tool watch

An explorer 1 is arguably one of the best deals around. Or at least it was until about a year or two ago, shit's gotten expensive. How many of those watches have you ever held in your hands, anon?
