Absolutely nothing, it's a great watch, Rolex was really smart to introduce the new colors and take emphasis off the very dated fluted bezel. Especially with the new colors it's a hip fashionable and versatile watch and it's offered in a variety of sizes to cover different tastes, however I'm not sure the 41mm option should exist.

I'm done boys.

This is my perfect watch. A golden mean between so many opposing forces... sporty, elegant, rare, functional, unostentatious, artful, reliable, valuable, durable. Sometimes I feel naked without a dive bezel, but even the best divers lack the versatility to be considered the Platonic idea of a watch.

Got the perfect matching strap that also balances opposing qualities. Got the correct vintage crystal. Got the 19mm shoulderless springbars.

I'm done. There are other watches I'd love to have, but they're all above 1k, usually way more, and it's just irrational to spend so much on another watch that would just take away from my enjoyment of this one.

It's time to end this madness. I just bought a bunch of classic folding knives, a dozen or so cost about as much as one decent watch. Watches are way too fucking expensive.

The chase is fun but I hope you guys find lasting satisfaction at some point too. It took me years.

No price, just looks. You can wear a quartz watch that looks good and tell the time or you can spend a lot on a watch that also looks good and tells the time worse but you can flex with it because its more expensive. You can be dressed up and still wearing a cheap mechanical and utilitarian watch like orient star/3 star which are on the 100-300 range. And remember, basically nobody will look at your watch, they will notice you use one and that's all, only autists will inspect them and snobs will only look at the brand.

This.
However, keep in mind that 99.99% of the population will not care. If anything they’ll recognize Armani and think that you must be the hot shit with such a fancy watch.
If you’re happy with how it looks, don’t want to “sell” it as more than just a nice looking, cheap trinket and you’re still trying to find a new style, just keep it and get something better when you know what you’re into.

Price is irrelevant, only watch nerds and snobs eat that shit up. The average person only cares about how it looks, if it's even noticed that is.

The things to really look out for are these:

1. Watch has to fit a specific occasion. Wear a dress watch for anything formal, a versatile etc. Also a reminder you van dress down a watch, but you can't dress it up. You can't wear a Gshock while you're suited up, but you can wear a dress watch at work in the office.

2. Size is pretty important, especially the lug to lug width. A dress watch needs to be small and sit compactly on your wrist, while divers are allowed to be big (but not too big). If your arm is 6 inches or 15 cms, you can't wear a 50mm Invicta without looking like a donkey's ass.

3. While I said that price is irrelevant, that only holds true for normal scenarios. If you hold a certain status at your work and things are expected of you and it's required of you to look nice and be friendly with clients, you are supposed to spend at least a month's salary on a watch.

>Casio is bringing back its first analog/digital G-SHOCK watch for the Fall season. Named the AW-500, the watch design was first seen in 1989 and was known for having both a traditional analog display with a dial and hands, and a rectangular LED digital display.

>The reintroduction will see both a more affordable resin version and a premium stainless model. Both versions will offer the same G-SHOCK-standard of impact protection with 200 meters of water resistance. Functions include a stopwatch, alarm, backlight afterglow, dual time, Neobrite luminous hands, and calendar. The metal version sees a few more elevated details like solar charging and radio rave reception.

>Sized at a hefty 47.7 mm in case size, the resin version weighs 58 grams while the stainless steel version comes in at 175 grams. Those interested in purchasing one of these re-editions can head over to CASIO where the G-SHOCK retails for ¥13,000 JPY and ¥60,000 JPY (approximately $125 USD and $570 USD) for the resin or stainless steel versions, respectively.

in terms of the dial, this is one of those rare examples of a nice-looking skelly. the case is just too off, though. it's supposed to be an elegant watch, not an over-engineered soviet bunker. and then the case is the start of where the bracelet is designed. bracelet isn't terrible but needlessly wide because the case is so fuckhuge.
I really wish there were more good skeleton/open-heart designs but I've only seen like two or three that I've liked.

GS has a lot of watches that could feel pretty definitive, however they are a little big usually and just weren't worn in the classic era of watchmaking and don't have the history. But if I was going for a new watch, they're a better choice than what's left of the classic swiss companies.

Seiko Arnie 2020 SNJ029 SNJ031, its a big watch, 51mm lug to lug I think, but I have seen some pics of wristlets wearing it and desu it does not look bad, the watch is a tool watch, not a dress one, many people don't see oversized sport watches like that as something terrible, it's like wearing a gshock.Pic related is arnie on a bit over 6'' wrist which looks on the worst position to taking a pic.A link with other tunas

No,most people doesn't know about Patek,Vacheron,AP, or other high end brands, they don't know what expensive is or not.On my country there was a politician, he was seen with two watches that cost around 700-1000 eur each one, and people thought it was some expensive shit,a politician showing his luxury lifestyle, and they were just some garmin sports smartmatch and a national microshitter watch with ETA movement.
Long ago I asked my sister what the best watch brand was, the top brand, and she said rolex, named other brands and she did not know anyone of them, and was surprised that Rolex was just the bottom of the luxury world and that 7k for a watch was really cheap compared to the high end watches. Maybe now with the rapper and gaudy stuff some normies know nautilus and royal oaks, but the average person won't.

Not that anon but one of my best friends’ gf’s dad is a well off watch collector/nerd and every guy in her family has pretty nice watches along the lines of Breitling, IWC and whatever.

Her and her boyfriend also are into watches but her boyfriend is more into collecting Casios and Seikos than anything and she’s just in it for the fun little digital Casios.

So I want something different, as it's the only opportunity I have to wear a crazy shitter.

Can you recommend specific chink shit watches? I have to say tho, Russian shit has a cooler vibe. Also an addition, good water resistance would be important.

Like the other anon said, either select Chinese brands or Russian Vostoks, both are incredible value. I would avoid the vintage meme if you are inexperienced.

Some Chinese great value brands are Pagani Design, Cadisen, Steeldive, Heimdallr and San Martin, the first two only have only an aliexpress outlet while the other 3 also have their own website. Opt for meranom for Vostoks.

If you are going for Vostoks a small piece of advice is to buy extra straps as the default metal bracelet is garbage, also the delivery time can take at least a month.

Other than that you basically can't go wrong

there are some asian divers at <$150, brands like steeldive/tisell (san martin is more expensive, ~$300 and up)
$150 is not a bad price for meme designs with good specs like this 1 for example

otherwise vostok seems to fit your reqs to a T
