Why haven't you taken the longhair pill?

So few men actually do it that it immediately draws attention. You'll look like a lion amongst sheep.

It is dignified, elegant, and old fashioned while also rebellious, daring, and rugged. You can go from pirate/Viking/barbarian to classic count, prince, King.

You have many interesting options on how to wear it.

It is a natural way to keep your head regulated, temperature wise.

It shows off health. Not everyone CAN grow a luscious mane of hair.

It can be as high or as low maintenance as desired. Do something elaborate, or just come it and tie it, or leave it flowing.

So why are you still a generic shorthair? Become a legend.

I already have long hair but I don't find it draws attention to myself. The point is that it conceals in such a way that it makes people curious to know what's underneath. It adds a little mystery where a crew cut would expose everything. I'm not a particularly confident person and the hair makes things easier

I'm growing it out right now. Having very curly hair naturally (not negro-level curly, but pretty tight) makes the awkward transitional phase so much worse. Anybody got product recs for helping with getting it a little more under control and less frizzy ike picrel? My friend keeps recommending this Cantu gel shit and his hair looks pretty damn fantastic.

Argon oil is good for frizz, but you seem to be wanting either weight or hold.

I'm tempted to say to say Sea salt spray can help hold without looking greasy. But it does add volume which can make it look shorter. This also can dry your hair out. An alternative is sugar spray, but the hold is weaker.

Maybe someone else has better ideas.

This is a tough one.

On the one hand I never advocate for a cut, especially if you aren't 100% sure. My go to advice, wait two weeks, see if you still want to cut it. If you flip flop, don't. If so, go ahead.

The only reason to cut it is if YOU want it to look different. I can understand wanting "normal" hair for wedding photos, but ask yourself - do you like your look? If so, keep it. It's you, this is your actual life and look. Don't alter it to appease someone else.

Your wedding photos should also showcase who you are at the time. Changing your look from the norm is kind of silly. Be you.

depends how greasy your hair normally gets when you don't wash it, and how long it is. Mine is nipple length + wizard beard and my scalp gets oily quick. Once every 2-3 weeks I squirt 3-4 pumps on both my hands and rub it into whatever drapes over my shoulders then rub the rest into my beard till my hands are dry. If yours is shorter like shoulder-length or thereabouts, you'll probably only need 1 pump. Long crispy hair just sucks it up, but it'll glue down the hair on top if you use too much

I always hear how you shouldn't blowdry your hair, and always air dry it.
Now that my hair is long (long for a guy I guess) it take more than an hour to completely dry.
And I always shower at night, and you can't sleep with wet hair.

it is the heat coupled with being whipped by the wind that splits the ends.
you can blow dry on a low heat and do less damage.
you can also hot oil the ends regularly to minimize breakage.
you can also get a free-standing dryer with a low air flow that you sit under while doing other things like in steel magnolias.

I'm looking for advice, I've been growing my hair since January.
The bangs, sides and top part is all good IMO, when I slick it back.
The problem is with the back side, I guess because it grows faster than the rest of the other parts, and because the layers get stacked over each other, it would go "foosh" and curve to the sides and back.
What can I do to fix that? I'm getting negative feedback on it.

Or at least any idea how to style it?
I was thinking of this:
Part the hair horizontally at the ear level from, and use a trimmer with guard and go on the hair at the bottom part and see if this fix it.

Because the hair will probably only curl at the end, so as your hair lengthens it will lie flatter on the back of your head and curl somewhere further down on your back (I'm guessing).

Your hair looks pretty oily, which looks good, freshly shampoo'd hair tends to curl less because the hairs don't hold together as much with less natural oil. Your mileage may vary, we have very different hair (I'm the blonde guy above).

I probably wouldn't try it with a trimmer. You might just have to find a different stylist to take a look at it

I usually air dry it, unless it's cold weather, then I have to use blow dryer, I'm sensitive to cold.
I'd lean down and have the gravity pull on my wet hair and press on it with cotton cloth, flip it over and wrap it in the same cotton cloth until it's dry.

Have you been combing it back with mousse or gel?

Your hair sems fairly thick, and much of your top hair is probably "trained" to sit toward the front and side, so it can be tough, but should still be manageable at this length.

Slicked-back is definitely one of the best styles to deal with the transitionary period when growing hair out, so you should keep at it. Maybe you can achieve at least a partial slick-back.
