I think you need to contrast his paintings/prints with more bright and understated decor. Maybe Scandinavian design, light natural colours from wood and textiles, few splotches of colours in details like blankets, candle holders, or what have you. It would get too depressing with all black and dark interiors, and edgy and busy designs like skulls and Walmart epic cool daggers.
