Got this one in silver for under 50€ and scratched the itch for cartier for me. Sword hands and fat numerals were important. Miss the railroad track a bit. But other hommage shitters were too much off from what i wanted.
Cartiers design looks great. But after eating so many red pills about the watch industry to not feel retarded for falling for the swiss meme.

>scummy practices for fake exclusivity and keeping the prices of watches high
>artificial scarcity
>not delivering spare parts to independent watchmakers, forcing you into their expensive service centers with longer service times

Those are just very few things i can think of right now. From the perspective of a brand, they are doing it right, taking power into their hands, out of the "free" market and protecting their watches presumed value, like a stock.
But for me as a customer, there is too much cucking to bear. It just makes others richer.

it started off with me being really into smell, like how a females armpit smells and how their breath smells. like morning breath and how it smells after eating "x" or "y'. then i started being really into the idea of what their shit would smell like. i really like this thought because normally its not something you talk about, but you know every female does it. so everytime i would see a really pretty female, be it someone i know or a random, the idea of them taking a shit and how repulsive it would smell really grew on me. cause you know, universally, poop is disgusting, and that fact is what makes it even hotter for me. its like having sex in public, the excitement you get from it. but instead its knowing really cute females take disgusting shits. of course ive never had a female take a shit on me, but the thought of it makes me so fucking hard its insane. when i get to this point i normally get one of my stained underwears and just fap to pics of panties with shit smears on them.

i didn't mean that, i know, but everybody has or wants a nautilus, similarly with royal oak, but the overseas is like the underground watch, many VCs appear that way to me... they make some stunning pieces, but all everybody talks and wants are (equally stunning) pateks (mostly the 5711) and royal oaks (leaving rolex out of this for obvious reasons). And VC just somehow flies under the radar. I think they should get more attention. I'm no expert, so forgive me if i'm wrong, just giving my perspective here.

It's a combination of the fact Vacheron are shit at marketing and the Offshore is not as popular a design as those by Genta. The dial, case and bracelet are not iconic designs no matter how well made they are. Sure the movement is well finished but sports watch buyers don't care about that. As for VC in general they are still extremely highly rated and even 5 to 10 years ago they sold really well but at the moment they are in a slump.

>Casio did the better job here.
I find this Casio a little bland to be honest and I just love the look and pacticality of my domed crystal so much.
The dial is a bit busy but that's the point of the whole slide ruler/chronograph combo and everything is easily readable.
I barely ever took this watch off for 15 years except to change the battery or the nato strap or clean it a bit and it's barely scratched and still fully functional.
It means 15 years of travelling the world, hiking, climbing, swimming, riding bikes, fixing cars, playing drums, working on the house, chopping wood, taking hot showers, going to business meetings, eating at fancy diners and fucking my wife.
I recently tried to go classy with a nice leather strap but quickly realized it's a pain to take it off like a fag so it doesn't get wet so I just went back to nato.
Also I had a G-Shock before that and fucked it up in 2/3 years.

Yes I agree. But I guess it is the brand you pay for and not the quality for a big part. It is sad really. To deny so many people a nice watch just because a company wants to maintain their HH value.

Sometimes I wonder if it would really be so bad if companies like VC would be 1/3 of the price. I believe they can definitely do it in terms of cost of making such a watch like the cornes de vache.

I despise nazis as much as the next guy, but
1) the iron cross was used symbolically by the German army since at least WW1, if you remember your Peanuts comics. Snoopy was the WW1 flying ace in the sopwith camel vs the red baron, his plane adorned with said cross, same as the IRL red baron.
2) the cross VC uses is the Maltese cross, which goes back to the crusades. while similar, it is distinct from the cross adopted by the German army, which itself probably goes back to the crusades, too.

but you're right, that is probably why nobody buys it except watch nerds and nazis, and presumably the groups overlap at least a little; probably a lot in the case of 4chan.

>It has a dual time zone but it's again hard to read and it's 12 hour only which doesn't fucking make sense.
I see your point but usually you already have an approximative idea about what kind of time zone you are dealing with on the dial, so for me it's a non-issue.
Also if you don't like it just use it as the alarm.
>Totalizer only goes to 1 hour which is a waste on a chrono.
Never used the chronometer for more than one hour straight to be honest.
>The chrono hand resets slow as fuck.
I find it charming.
>The retarded lug width makes it a pain in the dick to change straps.
I never take off the watch and always use a 21 mm nato so I don't care.
>The exposed bezel which becomes useless as a slide rule if it gets scratched.
Except it doesn't get scratched.
>The slide rule itself is useless because it's impossible to line up to the inner scale due to the retarded curved crystal.
What? No. Just look at it from above and well centered and there is no issue, everything is smooth and perfectly aligned.
It's like saying that a Casio calculator watch is not ergonomic enough for proper calculations.
Anyways this boils down to 'stop liking what I don't like'.
I like my watch and it's unbreakable so I won't get my panties in a bunch if someone disagrees with me on an obsolete technology hair splitting forum.
