I wanted to like that thing but I just couldn't.
It's too hard to read at a glance due to the small dial, and curved crystal. The yellow seconds hand is ugly as fuck.
It has a dual time zone but it's again hard to read and it's 12 hour only which doesn't fucking make sense. Totalizer only goes to 1 hour which is a waste on a chrono.
The chrono hand resets slow as fuck.
The retarded lug width makes it a pain in the dick to change straps.
The exposed bezel which becomes useless as a slide rule if it gets scratched.
The slide rule itself is useless because it's impossible to line up to the inner scale due to the retarded curved crystal.
Sorry pal, but Casio did the better job here.

Textured dials are embracing mediocrity. The ideal dial should be perfectly smooth with a flawless surface. Matt dials are for the plebs that cant afford real HH, textured dials are imperfect by design, completely abandoning the quest for perfection in favor of low budget pop garbage, yes even the hand turned rose engine dials.

If you are talking precious metal then sure. JLC is roughly on-par with VC when it comes to price but unlike most other HH brands they also make steel versions of their models which are extremely affordable (relatively). You are talking about $5k-$10k cheaper.

I think you will be amazed how cheap you can pickup a 2nd-hand or grey market ALS. Definitely worth considering.

It's my daily beater and I'm reluctant to buy anything else because I wouldn't wear the new watch over the Dato. Only reasons I bought the Dornbluth are that it's ridiculous value for the money and so I can wear a watch when I'm in shadier areas as well as supporting local independent watchmaking.

the closest mechanical to this one is 2000$ more

the way i see it, i think the quartz will cost less over time due to little service costs.

don't have to wind it and it doesn't even have a jumping seconds hand so it's pointless at this point.

cartier watches are not about the movement, it's about the style.

sur they get more profit out of the quartz instantly, but over time and counting service costs it evens out between the two.

Thanks for the feedback. I know I've already got a dress and a "field" watch, but the junghans fits more of a smart-casual daily wearer role that I like on top of being one of the first watches I fell in love with (also I dig dress watches and plan on owning multiple in the future anyways). The alpinist isn't really a true field watch, and the hammy has the advantage over the other tool watches that I don't think I'd ever replace it for a more expensive version later down the line like I would the diver or pilot. The yema is probably the best value prop of the lot and the broken 6 and 9 remind me of my dad's vintage lecoultre pilot but it's also the most expensive. The baltic is probably the best looking diver this side of £2000 and I'm in desperate need of one, plus I fucking love sapphire bezels, but it's also slightly over budget. Sorry for wordy post but help me out bros.
