This is me about 4 weeks after a haircut, I like how it looks from the front but it doesn't look that good from the sides and back. Maybe that's just because I am kind of a chinlet tho but I can't grow a proper beard. The red arrow marks a cowlick that makes it kinda hard to find a suitable hairstyle because my hair always stands upwards at this position. I currently just get a 15mm cut on the sides and let the top longer.

I used to have some parts that would curl to my ears, but just as it got longer it started to be broken up into smaller waves. I think what causes that (the singular wave) is that the hair wants to stay aligned, and when it's short enough, it stays together pretty easily, but when it's long enough, there's too much hair for the force of alignment to hold it all together, but anyways while the alignment can happen I think that the direction of the curl is just whatever is most stable so usually away from your neck but on the sides there is space for it to go towards your ears so it does that at the right length.

I mentioned to another poster to try texture paste, that usually gives you a more matte, natural looking finish and a light hold. You can put a dime size amount in your hair while it's still a tad damp for easy application.
For the flyaway strands you might want to apply hairspray so it all stays together.
Experiment a bit or even search up tutorials with someone that has your hair texture. That will make a huge difference as well.

Do it, it's a really versatile haircut and the silhouette never really falls out of style. You can style it clean for work, but let it get messy for casual stuff and still have it look good. During that time, the bangs would annoy the most so, sweep the bangs back and hold it with the hair band.
Your current hair cut is OK to start growing it.
Use the hair cream on the sides to tame it.

I have a super flaky scalp, to the point where I'm afraid to scratch my head. I wash my hair about twice a week. When I scrub the scalp to remove dead skin it just irritates the next layer and scalp gets reddish and flakes the next day.

I grow out my hair till it is too long and get it cut (happens about once a year)

A year ago a guy managed to get things even and somewhat comfy, but way too short.
Today, a different barber confidently screwed it up as much as he could.
The first time he took me off the chair I had the center hairs still long, basically I got a phohack. The second time he evenes it out with the front, but turns it into a fade.
Am I just unlucky? I have a hard time believingI got two barbers in a row fail to execute the simplest haircut in the book.

I recommended the vit, because the girl knew what she was doing and didn't kick me when I told her I got the corona.
I got the full course for 25$, including shave, facial massage, ear grooming.
