quality wise they are pretty much indistinguishable; same methods, same materials, same location (spokane, washington), same everything.
white's doesn't send a try-on pair, but you can call/email them and send in some measurements and they will recommend a boot size. white's has THE BEST customer service out of any of the PNW boot companies, and will let you return the boot if it doesn't fit no problem. post a pair of ireparable guidi, most you need to do is keep them conditioned, vibram the leather soles, the zipper issues have long been fixed. They are great quality with some of the best leather made.

>>15534272
Marsell used Guidi leather, but their designs just don't do it for me. Their bots look like budget Guidi at the same price, their womens line is good.

M.A. +, Marsell and a few other artisan boot makers use Guidi Leather, MA lines (if you know you know) have all used Guidi leathers and aged them to their methods (burying them ect...).

CCP is legendary for his leather production and he uses his own leathers. You won't find leather like CCP on any other boots, although some try (A1923).

Listen. You get what you pay for. They'll fit the bill and nobody will ever know. But the leather may not age all that well, and they probably won't hold up as well in the long run. I really wouldn't shit on anyone irl for it, but if you're spending that much already, just spend enough to get a pair from a reputable bootmaker that has a good track record. Or just keep an eye for sales. Redwing did some sales on iron rangers, chippewa can be had on sale all the time, and I'm sure wolverines pop up from time to time as far as your entry level stuff goes. Oak street bootmaker does black Friday deals. I got a pair from them and fucking love them.

For a first foray into boots I thought Thursday boots would be decent, but considering everyone here laughs at everything that company does, could anyone provide an alternative?

I would be wearing once or twice a week, so it doesnt need to be bombproof quality but not falling apart after a few months wear would be nice, especially if its >£200 I'm paying.

Thank also brings me to my second point, I'm a bong so if you also happen to know of a UK or even Euro based company that has what I'm looking for I'd be grateful :)

pic related, the boots I was planning on getting

Grenson is a UK-based company I've made good experiences with across multiple pairs. They are kind of a gateway into the world of finer british shoemaking, and their designs tend to be dressier as such (like pic related), but they also have some more rugged models. You should be able to find a nice pair for around 200 in outlets, retailers or on sales.

That said, I have no experience with Thursday, they might not be awful - I'm sure they won't be falling apart after months, certainly.
