the answer is that basically any new cap will look kinda weird, like you just got it as a souvenir at a baseball game. which is fine, that’s honestly the most logical way to get one lol. but the proper way to wear a cap is to find a team you like, bonus points for being a hometown college or local minor/major league team. get a grey or otherwise muted color, soft, fitted or strap back (dad hat) curved brim cap from genuine merchandisers like new era or ‘47 brand or even nike, then wear the shit out of it in the sun and sweat like crazy in it. jogging or yard work will do. eventually it will lose shape and bleach from sweat/sun. a properly loved and worn-in baseball cap can be as comfortable and candid to wear as pair of perfectly broken in boots or raw denim. just look to Shia for inspo. if you can’t convince someone you know how to change your own tire based on how you already look and dress, then a cap probably isn’t for you
