The car was most definitley not a real Flachbau. It was a 1979 by his own admission. Apparently he didn't know Porsche never made Flachbaus availible to the public until around 83.

Car was neglected to shit. 4 speed, non-turbo. It was a nice kit/conversion but worth nowhere near 70k.

I wonder if he sold it and someone got it running/repainted ... I saw a bright orange one on the road and have to question if it was the same car. When he had it it was faded metallic purplish pink in most areas but you could tell it was originally maroon and spent decades roasting in the sun.

Agree on all of those cars. Disagree that the 300zx is slow.

It's not fast compared to other sports cars from the era, but it is a fast car. Slow is a miata or a fiat 500. I would know, I own both. Talking about the TT btw. Also, 300zx is a more capable car than the 3000gt. In terms of handling, weight, being correct wheel drive (3000gt is awd but front wheel bias) and about as fast as every other midrange sports car from the era.

It is boaty and not -that- sporty, but that's because it was trying to be a luxury car too. Mods will fix that. 300zx and 3000gt are both beautiful cars for sure, and the sc300 is lovely. I'd add the subaru SVX to that list. It looks dope. Too bad it was a garbage car performance wise.
