I never thought about this but it makes sense especially if you want to give a certain impression. I guess it’s like having a Burberry scarf or coat.

Is Lacoste still regarded well for polos and such or does RL take that one? I thought that Lacoste in France was akin to Fred in the UK, historically working class.

Maybe some vintage YSL is worth trying if you want to go for that type of social look or blend with more contemporary fits.

It's not bad but it does have some issues, the biggest one is that the herringbone is just a bit too small and that it seems to lack any texture meaning that it's not tweed :(( Tweed flatcaps are actually pretty cheap, around £45 and if you get them used (which isn't advisable since I don't think that there's much of a difference in quality) you'll easily get them for around £10-£20.

I remember the worst theses threads had to deal with was people accusing posters of larping and then the threads getting subsequently derailed by the 'discussion'

also remember that "fit" is a bit of a nonsensical concept. clothes should not "fit" your body, or "fit" slim or relaxed, but should be cut to (1) achieve a V-taper or whatever given the limitations of your build and (2) allow for comfort. my exercise is bicycling, and so I have huge calves, thighs, bottom. this means pants cut wide enough to comfortably fit my lower half and then even wider shirts to balance that.

It's simple though
trad = straight fit/a tiny bit of taper between the knee and ankle
ivy = all the way between slightly tapered trousers and slimfit straight trousers (there are lots of slimfit pics if you want me to prove it.)
prep = whatever you want as long as it isn't sex-core spray on pants.

Here's a test. I'll post some pictures and you decide if it should be trad/ivy or prep. It should be pretty easy.
