Update regarding interview: went pretty well. There was a portion just asking about general scheduling and interests then a photoshoot. I’d never done a photo shoot before so I didn’t know what to do. They just told me to “move around and pose” and they’d take a ton of pictures and pull out the good ones for my profile for the agency. They also did some voice recordings too which was unexpected

Modeling is glorified and not worth it. Be prepared to do a lot of work for free for the first year just to build a portfolio, and clear every schedule you have on the side to make space for modeling.

I tried it for a couple of months and thought the people in the business didn't seem genuine. It took up a lot of time and wasn't worth it in the end.

I'd rather have a stable income and do work that makes me happy than working for a couple bucks here and there standing around looking pretty.

You could bypass the financial instability if your appearance is exceptionally good or unique but that chance is one in a million.

how to live in japan?

A guy I went to liberal arts college got into modeling after he was spotted doing construction work of all things. He did runway shows for some big brands. He was in a few photoshoots that were high profile enough that the pics ran in Vogue, and foreign editions of Vogue. The real money came in after he connected with a sugar daddy in Miami.
