but I have to warn you, vintage hunting is full of landmines and frankenmonster watches pieced together from various broken watches and with unoriginal parts. I spent days looking at so many different ones. Many sellers will try and cheat you or have dodgey parts, I pulled out of buying one because the seller did not disclose /wasnt honest about it. You have to do your homework and request pictures of the movement inside. And I'd likely have to service these both when I get them because god knows how long they have not been cleaned. And please avoid etsy, that place is just full of redials and fake dials and new cases passing off as vintage and all sorts of dishonest garbage at much higher prices on ebay

I have no problem with date windows usually, they're useful and on most watches they don't ruin the aesthetics and symmetry of the dial. As for the copyright, looking at the watch it seems it was done without permission but as you said they couldn't sue a soviet company. They might attempt however to sue a bit of a bigger company using mickey without copyright. The first time mickey was on screen there was no copy right notice posted in the title card and at the time apparently that meant no copyright, it's never been tested in court however. It's a bit like the happy birthday song, for years it was questioned whether WB owned it, but they charged so little to companies to use it, everyone just paid as it was cheaper than legal fees, that is until recently it was tested in court, and turns out they never owned it.

The one pictured is an early "PolArouter" and one of the most desirable, I think the seller got $2700 for it. Later ones in rough shape seem to be going for as little as $500 on ebay. A lot of them have aged badly and thus aren't too collectable. It all depends on what design and condition you specifically want.

For a poorfag, a few hundred bucks is probably off the table but if you can sell a few shitters and scrap up 7-800 you could get a nice later polerouter that would be a stellar part of any collection. They're high quality watches with a unique history. For some reason I absolutely hated them until I saw a nice one and it just clicked how well they embody the 50s/60s futurist aesthetic.
