i've been working out, combination of dumbbells and bodyweight exercises for around four and a half months. i started out skinny fat. still am, just a bit less definition and less visible fat on my body across the board.

i'm fine with my dimensions, i'd just like for my abs to be more defined, to cut down the belly fat and love handles i've still got, and a little more definition in my arms would be nice.

i used to be a dancer so my lower body is way stronger than my upper body. i'm ok with the shape my legs are in mostly.

i've been working out every day and taking an easy day every week or two and going on lots of long walks and occasionally going on bike rides.

i've heard mixed things on whether or not i should continue lifting if i'm interested in focusing on dropping my body fat. anyone have any guidance for what my next move should be? or if i'm seeing slow steady progress with what i've been doing, should i just keep at it?

How do genuinely thin people do it?
I grew up in a house with bad eating habits so it takes me a massive conscious effort to not be fat.
I get the sense that a lot of thinspo posters just don’t have an interest in food. Perhaps their metabolism is just that good. Or maybe they gave tremendous willpower and they can just not eat that much for long periods of time.
I mostly eat baked seitan/tempe for protein and raw spinach for carbs.
Occasionally I’ll throw in yogurt and blueberries for breakfast.

Goddamn it. Got down to just below 130lbs which was my ugw. Been eating more normally and definitely gained weight but now it's super hard to stop. Keep eating 1000cal and the next day binging. It's difficult to lose fat while gaining muscle. Do OMAD and the occasional 24-48-72 hour fast, whatever you're comfortable with to cut. Once you're comfortable with your body fat percentage, you can gain muscle to your liking. Some amount of lean muscle always looks better than auchwitz mode.

i just have an eating disorder but aside from that i have a much harder time snacking on sweet/salty junk foods (candy, chips, pretzels, etc) and tend towards more savory things like the other anon said (chickpeas, pickled carrots). a lot of it comes from willpower too! even if you don’t do hardcore restriction a calorie counting or fasting app can keep you on track
