The undecorated thing stopped being true many years ago. Seiko has been decorating the 8L over the last few years. Minimally, but it’s there, including fancy Tokyo stripes.

Also even though they could regulate them, the 8L is accurate enough out of the factory that it’s COSC after it settles down. You would be unlucky to get a king tuna that doesn’t keep very accurate time. Like within 3 to 5 seconds per day.

Haven't really been visiting these threads for a couple of years now, and I've had no interest in adding anything to my collection of shitters and fairly decent vintage shitter Seikos. But anyway, I've been bored and started reading these threads which are as autistic as ever, and naturally I've started idly checking eBay for stuff to repair but HOLY SHIT, what has happened to the second-hand market for Seiko? Everything is like twice as expensive as even 2-3 years ago.
I'm starting to seriously consider selling my 10 or so watches that are worth selling and buying something like a BB58 instead.

some do but think about how often you use the chrono. having the small seconds is basically a barometer for if the watch is wound that you can see at a single glance.
you probably use the chrono very rarely and for less than 30 minutes at a time anyways. I've never used a chrono though so I can't attest to this. but I would think that knowing whether the watch is powered up is more useful than having an extra 30 mins, which you could probably just estimate based on how long it has been anyways

As far as I know, they have nothing to do with each other.
Vostok is Russian, Vostok Europe is Latvian (or Lithuanian? And they use Japanese movements). However, meranom, which appears to be Vostoks official retailer (really, though?) also sells them, so who knows.
But it's not like they're an option anyways, since they don't make watches, only dinner plates. Sad really, I like their design and cheesy fake soviet heritage.

I like to wear a watch, and can appreciate a good timepiece, but really just don't like the look of all other styles of watches.
I really can't see why someone would spend Rolex money on a GMT M-ii over a good looking dress watch, and that's one of the better ones. Diver/Alpine watches tend to look like the watch equivalent of the fits that get roasted on here.
