No instagrams. This is a thread where we discuss the state of /TIP/ and how should we split from now on now that we see that the former formula of all of us posting under the same roof doesn’t accommodate for us anymore.

>> No.15228858

Maybe let’s keep it minimalistic for a while. I quite like the split between LARP General and Neoprep. We can always see where to go from here later.

Why no Instagrams? The list is nice for inspo

LARP general for those cringy fucks that dress in their grandpa's clothes and look like shit and Neoprep for the well adjusted modern gentleman that dresses nice with a prep/trad influence

Neoprep=hipsters who want to incorporate SLIM and other modern filth into their “/TIP/“ fit and want others to follow along so badly

DAILY REMINDER
Anons accusing you of llaarrpp do not belong to WASP culture. They’re a bunch of insecure weirdo hipsters who get mad at you for not incorporating modern fashion trends into /TIP/ style. These individuals are considered rejects. Refer to them as rejects.

My suggestion is to start with TRAD and Sprezzatura where the former includes TIP as in the The Official Preppy Handbook and old film inspo and the latter is about Neoprep and modern menswear as in Pitti. No need for more threads, there are not that many of us here posting anyway.

I just realized that jannies removed the TRAD thread. Why??

Guys I found a pretty cool camel harrington to wear with my taupe clarks.
Would khaki pants also work with that?
Or should I go for a more contrasted color?

>> No.15230746

Yes, go with blue chinos or even jeans.

But where do we draw the line between trad and LARP? Obviously early 20th c. Handrawn advertising and using 'preppy vocab' is wack, but things like Pic related have some years on em and are still quality. Idk how anyone expects to have a thread on 'traditional' and trad-influenced attire without the occasional vintage fit.

Imo we mocked dark acadamia into submission and now they're trying to assimilate... Poorly.

Why just trad? What about ivy and prep?

You're just talking about Italian menswear. That isn't tip. TIP is Anglo, British American inspired.

The bulk of the larp seems to be people wanting to dress and act like it's the 50's or 60's. There's are still preppy folks and ivy students today, but the fact that they don't all mirror thier fathers and grandfather's style triggers the larpers.

Additionally it's people who expect full adherence to vintage TIP styles that get
The general should be the whole range of trad/ivy/prep inspo and questions from the entire history of the style, so people can incorporate traditional/ivy/prep style into thier wardrobe, but the problem seems to be people who want to pretend it's the 60's (or that they go to a real school) getting mad when they see how actual TIP folks dress.

So I say specifically the Trad component because it's this strange obsession with traditional aspects of the style that has people worked up.
