There are posts with double spaced text in it.

Phoneposters and twitter twits aren't used to things like paragraphs and double-spacing, and they see 4chan as a place to dump short length shitposts like they would on twitter, not to mention double spacing wastes their precious screen space.

Reddit is the only forum they're aware of that regularly has long form posts, and of course we are supposed to vocally hate reddit here, so it's easy to convince idiots that double spacing is "reddit spacing" even though we've been doing it here since day one.

This is why I like to turn every sentence into a paragraph because my tiny brain has a hard time reading lots of texts because it reminds me of all the books I have trouble reading.

This shit makes zero sense because putting a line break between paragraphs is the correct way to write. Stacking them on top of one another with no space is something you do when writing lists of bullet points or something but it's completely wrong when breaking up normal text so that multiple statements or subjects don't all run together, and it results in hideously formatted walls of text. Double spacing isn't something you do because of reddit, it's something you do because you're used to it from writing college papers or work documents or whatever.
